I've been hanging out at Winnsboro since this morning. If you haven't been to the Southern Nationals you are missing out. I haven't even shot and it's already been an awesome trip.
I will post some pics after I clean myself up.
Southern hospitality at it's finest!!!!!

The beer I can handle. I believe my singing would be the end to their sound system.

Dang JJP that got me wanting to call work and tell them I am taking off two more days and head up there. Range looks great and ready to go. Have fun! Tempted to try and make the airgun match Friday but I am not sure yet. Hope you enjoyed the crawfish!

Watch out for Limey he appears to be in heat in that pic, scary! lol
Dee
PS We usually park about 4 more tents down to the left of the range. Stand there and hold our spot till we get there if you don't mind

. I'll buy you a beer after the shoot Friday for taking care of that.

I'm bringing a tent (8' x 8') to sleep in - as long as I have a fairly level spot to set it up, I'll be good to go. (preferably situated near the top of a small hill, with a nice cooling breeze).

This is Louisiana it is pretty much all flat. So if you want your camp spot on the hill top you might want to bring a lot of dirt with you as well to make one

As for a view you should call ahead and get something overlooking the pots-o-gold. I think all the camp spots with the sweeping vistas views of the canyon are already taken.

The cool breezes are always the first thing to go unfortunetly. Down here it is not so much a cool breeze as it is a warm breeze (hopefully) which kind of sorta feels cool when blowing over your sweat.
I just looked at the weather for Winnie looking like a Brisk mid to upper 90's but don't worry it is a wet heat

Should only be in the 60% humidity range. I am a few hours more further souther and it has been warm but actually still kind of nice yet. The oppresive Africa hot levels have not arrived yet. Last year the weather was about as good as it gets but this year will be a bit warmer.
Hope you aren't bringing a -10 Degree Mummybag to sleep in
Don't forget your skeeter repellant either.

I'm coming from south of St Louis. We have hot and muggy temps here (it's been in the low 90's recently, with what feels like about 350% relative humidity).
I expect the climate in LA to be pretty similar, but taken up a notch.
Skeeter repellent for sure - I should probably go to Wallyworld and buy whatever the strongest stuff they sell.
No -20 degree mummysacks will be making the trip.
Will there be any other folks camping in tents?
