Looked at a Browning BLR with tapered Octogon barrel .22 LR. Is it worth getting or should I keep looking for a 92?

My wife has shot the brownings for a couple of years and finialy switched to a 39a.The browning just didnt hold up to as much shooting as we do.After about 3000 rounds it was just plain wore out. Also to get it to shoot well she had to use top of the line ammo.RWS worked good out of it but it is way to expensive.Save your self all the head aches I went through and buy an older marlin 39A ( from early 80s on back) and you will be in good shape.

I second that. I bought a used Marlin 39a with a broke ejector finger. Ordered the part from Brownell's plus a reduced weight trigger/lever spring , cleaned it up and it's a great shooter.
