If those are the dates. Then when can people coming for the nationals get site settings?

You can get sight settings before and after the NM state matches, also remember that the rifle caliber range is separate and only used one day, in the past I was able to get sight settings and practice there for all three matches although there are no berms or targets for 40 and 75 meters (I had my own set of gongs for SB/PC). There is also one day between the state and the nationals to sight in.

44 Mag, I have to be truthful and tell you that as shooting ranges used for nationals go the Whittington Center leaves a lot to be desired when it comes to shooting silhouettes with iron sights. They refuse to groom the back stops for no good reason and early in the morning is very hard to see the targets because of the shadows on the holes created by the bullets that missed the targets in the berms.
There are no benches at the SB/PC range and very few at the rifle caliber range. There are gongs between the banks but they do not in very good condition so its hard to spot your hits once they have been shot a few times, bring your own paint if you are planing on practicing and don't be shy to ask others on the firing line to stop for a few minutes to paint gongs, other wise you will be shooting at the gongs without really knowing where you are hitting them.

And as I recall if you want to hang paper need your own target carrier. I have always used cardboard boxes sitting on the rail.

Mike, I'd be really suprised if you had to change your setting much from Pa. to Raton. You will be coming from shooting in warm weather ( well maybe not in Bradford ) and if you have good zeros they should not be that different at Raton. I have never had to change anything, but I hold on the center of all the animals. That aiming point is more forgiving to a little change than say aiming at the foot. Al

44 mag,

When I first shot at the Whittington Center in 2000, I found no elevation difference from my back east sight settings. This was true of my lever guns and my BPCR single-shot rifle. Now I live two hours north of the center and shoot their monthly matches as well as the nationals. When I returned to Pennsylvania last May my western settings were spot-on with the single-shot black powder rifle at Shippensburg and Ridgway. I wasn't able to get to a lever action match, but I'm sure my settings would have been the same.

HP Silhouette our home range is in yards, Shot a few out of town matches before going to Raton first time, ranges in meters, once I had the meter settings no change at all from East Coast to New Mexico. Short distance like CLA doubt if there is any at all.

Still good to confirm on paper before any match, Club range were I pratice and have shot many matches not always but new one always.

Thanks for posting the info on the New Mexico State Match at Raton. We've extended our stay at the Whittington center to shoot this match also and Have left a message for Mr. stryker to contact us so we can get the paperwork in on time. We will contact our other friends in Oklahoma to try to bring a bigger crowd.
Did you ever find a good bullet for your 25-20?

I have never shot hunter pistol, although I would be interested in shooting the 3 lever guns. Would like to know which days I would shoot if I shot Rifle , pistol, sb lever guns?
