New shooter: Stock packs allowed?

Hi, all. I'm getting geared up to start small bore silhouette shooting and was wondering if stock packs are allowed?

I've read the rule book and section 3 appears to be the section that describes the rules for equipment.

Section 3.2 describes the requirements for small bore silhouette rifles which basically says the rules are the same as for high power silhouette (section 3.1).
Section 3.1 says this about the stock:
(d) Stock: The stock must be traditionally styled and may not be bent and/or twisted so as to deviate from conventional configurations such as factory rifle stocks or silhouette stocks as manufactured by Fajen, McMillan, H-S Precision, and others. The forend, including the trigger guard mounts and screws, shall not exceed 2 1/4 inches wide, and 2 1/4 inches deep measured from the centerline of the bore. Magazines do not have to conform to stock measurements but those that extend below the stock line may not be used as support as per Rule 3.I(h) and 3.14. The forend shall extend a minimum of 8 inches forward of the forward edge of the receiver ring. The comb shall not extend above the centerline of the bore, but Monte Carlo roll may rise 1/2 inch on the off side. The toe of the stock including buttplate or recoil pad shall be no more than 7 inches below the centerline of the bore. Buttplate or recoil pad may not extend below the lower line of the stock.
(e) Attachments which do not cause any portion of the rifle to exceed the weight or dimensions as listed herein are permitted provided they do not extend past the end of the barrel. Sighting devices are not considered "attachments".
My read of this suggests a stock pack would be allowed. Does anybody know if they are specifically not allowed and, if so, what specific rule it would violate?

I'll bite....
Why do you want to use it? Is it to increase the comb hieght and get a better cheek weld? If so then yes, I believe it would be fine but there are nice glue down on
strap on pads that do the same.

If you are asking if you can increase the length of pull, the answer is yes as long as you don't exceed the overall length and the drop at the bottom of the recoil pad does not exceed 7 inches belowe the center of the bore.

Yup, to increase the comb height for cheek weld.
Do you have a link to any of the pads you mentioned?

You can make better stock contact with your cheek by raising the butt of the rifle in your sholder and using shorter scope mounts.

Works well on ambi stocks. The comb HAS to be straight though, if it's curved like a 452 trainer it won't fit.

I'll think about that. I was hoping to keep the scope a little on the high side in order to keep my head erect. To do that and still have a good cheek weld I have to raise the rifle as you suggest. Raising it, however, puts less of the butt in contact with my shoulder and it seems like you'd want as much contact as possible to reduce movement in the rifle.
We'll see. After I have it built up I'll see how it goes holding the rifle high in my shoulder. If I don't like it, I might use one of the pads.

You don't need a large contact area at the butt, just a "non-slip" contact. A 'flip-flop' cut in half does a real good job. Don't wear a slick jacket, it is bad at the butt of the rifle and at the non-trigger arm that rests on your side.
