Just seems odd to end such a great event on such an odd year... the 22nd year .

I'm thinking if we all show our love for David and Jerry (Robin too) maybe, just maybe, we can get David & Jerry to at least keep this going to the big 25th Year for a Quartery of a Century milestone, and have a big Quarter of a Century Celebration...

I can assure you that Jerry, Robin and I are officially retired from a match. Jerry and I are going to host a Reunion each year with food and adult beverages. If anyone wants to run a match, just let us know and we will let you know our plans. We are going to have the same quality of door prizes and sponsor awards but NO shooting. Just show up, enjoy yourself and win with zero pressure other than to party!

Our group of shooters from the Baton Rouge area is in the process of planning a smallbore regional match at Winnsboro Gun Club to coincide with the big party every year. The planning started with an informal meeting until 2:00 am last Saturday night. It won't be the Southern Nationals but it will be a very nice match. More details to come soon...

The planning, organization, friendships, BS, door prizes and awards have made the Southern Nationals the best (and most fun) shooting event in the nation. I can truthfully say that, as I have competed in a number of shooting disciplines. No other event comes close to the Southern Nationals. You are a class act.

So don't get me wrong - I enjoy a good party. But shooting is what I like to do. As long as triggers will be getting pulled, I'll be there!!

Thanks for the great review Mark. I ave been in touch with the Cajun bunch and they are definitely putting on a match at WGC the same time as our soon to be famous non-shooting party. Hope to see everyone back. They will have our entire data base of shooters
