NEW RANGES IN GEORGIA

Post by mikefoy308 »

Hello,
I would like to invite you to our facility in Blakely, GA. Blakely is right in the middle of nowhere, HOWEVER, It hosts the best set of ranges in the Southeast US, if not the United States.

We call ourselves the AIM ACADEMY. Address is 200 Sherman Rd, Blakley, GA 39823.

We have 2300 acres with various ranges, including Rifle, Pistol and Shotgun. For the IMHSA shooter, we have a 200/300 yd range with a covered concrete pad firing line. For Rifle Silhouette, we have a 2000 meter (yes 2000m) Un-known-distance range that will challenge the best of shooters.
We also host a 25 point 1000 yd Known Distance range with cantilever target carriers that are "one hand" smooth.

Our pistol ranges include pneumatic targets, paper and steel targets. There is also an 11 Bay Competition Range for IPSC/IPDA/3-GUN (one is a 360 degree range).

Our Shotgun range consists of a 14 station Sporting Clays course and an elevated 5-Stand.

We also have onsite lodging with 24 cabins available to rent.
For more Info call 229 724 4485

I am trying to get SILHOUETTE started here. We have all the ranges needed, just need some contacts for steel (used, maybe) and some help running the matches. I am the only person here that has shot HP, SBR and pistol and that was a long time ago.

Thanks

Mike Foy

Mike, I am in Columbus and would LOVE! it if you got HP silhouette going at Blakely. I'm also wanting to come down and stretch the legs on my long range rifle during some 3x600 matches and some UKD matches. Is there some where on the AIM website that shows your programs for each match on the calendar? I see that there is a 3x600 this Sunday but there isn't a full program listed. I assume they allow f-class to shoot along side the service rifles? I've got to get down there and see what my 6.5 Creedmoor is capable of at 1k.

Mike,

Ther is a guy in Fort Valley that will make HP targets - let me know if you are interested and I will send his contact info via PM. Thereare also several target companies listed on the NRA site (along with scale drawings so you can make your own) http://www.nrahq.org/compete/rules_imag ... t-list.pdf. Search results here on steelchickens indicate Ray's targets is a good source for SB targets.

Check out http://www.campsumter.net
Camp Sumter is a new range located in Andersonville, Ga that has very nice facillity and a great silhouette setup. They have pistol, steel, cowboy action and 3-Gun matches. Very affordable too.
