painted stocks.

I see rifles that are painted. That makes me wonder if under the paint there is a bondo job that got the comb high enough. Did I figure out what is going on?

In some cases yes.
In other cases they are full custom carbon fiber stocks that are molded that shape.
Many a stock has been bondo'd into shape though.

Wood stocks are purdy but......................... they are heavy and they move.
I think most of the painted stocks are plastic.

Walnut and blue steel are beautiful, but synthetic and stainless are more practical. Dangit.
