Can trigger blade change pull weight?

I put on a new trigger blade last night, and it seems to have lightened up the trigger pull a bit (about .25 pounds on my gauge). Is that possible, or is it just that I'm doing something different? The old blade was straight and this one is curved. The old one was thinner as well. I guess the curve could be putting the weight further back from the pivot point. Hmm, I'm just wondering if this is in my mind or if it is really lighter? The reason I measured it was it felt lighter to me, but I know a number of things can change the feel. Anyone know about this?

On a curved blade, I get a different reading depending on where I'm "grabbing" on the blade. Read in the center of the curve and then read on the very tip. You'll get two different readings.

So at a match can I tell the person checking stuff in "No no, I don't grab it there, move the gauge out to the tip!"?

If it's 2lbs in the center it will be less then that at the tip, you want them to check from the center of the trigger.

Thanks Bob. Now I need to go home and check it in the middle with my gauge and see if it passes.

I use one of the old fixed disk weight sets 2 lbs, let the shooter pick it up himself. You can snatch one and make it break, slow even holds, give them a few chances if needed, hook falls int the center of the trigger it's pretty accurate. Idea is to pass it not trip somebody up.
They do change I run mine slightly over 2

Yeah I have a wheeler gauge not the weights. Meh, I'll find out for sure in a couple weeks when I check it in at the IronMan.
