4-H Shooters

For the past three matches, our club has been fortunate to attract several 4-H youth shooters. Turns out 4-H also plays the smallbore silhouette game, but use slightly reduced distances (yards).

The kids, along with thier parents, are very safe and polite. The kids are also very good shots. One teenage boy shot a 36/40 score! And this was just his third time playing the NRA version of MS. And his first ten in a row was on turkeys!

Maybe we should be sending invites to local 4-H clubs.

Probably your single best source for new competitors.

Dont tell that turkey shooter how hard the birds are for most of us. Congratulations to him and I trust he's hooked.

Mark- where are you shooting?
I'm new to Mo shooting and only know about the Wright City range.
If you get the word out the 4H please include us "new comers."

Thanks,

We have been getting several 4-H shooters in Chattanooga this year and in fact one of the teams from Georgia that shoot with us took 2nd at 4-H Nationals last month in Nebraska and one shooter took High Score. Refreshing to see "new blood" coming on the scene and they are making some of the "Old Guard" work a little harder.

The Tennessee State for next month is filled and we have 5 Juniors and 15 Ladies shooting out of a total of 48. The world is good.

Gator - Congrats to the kids from Georgia. The teenagers who have been shooting with us were the 1st place team at the 4H Nationals held in Nebraska!

One of those boys shot our match last weekend and shot a 26/40 with a Ruger 10/22 and a 6x scope. He did indeed make us veterans work harder!

And I think it is great you are seeing so many youth and female shooters join our sport.
