Hi Mary

Wayne and I will be making HP this year for the first time. We don't need a room but I have a couple of questions regarding the match itself. Are there congs at the various distances or do I need to bring targets and frames for sighting in. How much time is allotted between the first and second match? I understand the food at the range is not recommended, is water provided or should we bring our own.

Yes there are gongs at HP. Water is available, but it is not always cold, so you may want to bring your own. Food has varied, depending on the catering that year. So be prepared! As of timing, depending on weather, number of shooters we may have time or not, Greg runs an interesting match, I just kind of roll with the punches there. Weather can be good and then there was recently where they ran on two short days because the wind was too much. Seen them shoot the gongs and send Jonathon L down to count each shot, got really strung out then. In short by staying on site, you can always drive back to the room and eat if need be.
