Sling Swivels in a Pharr stock

Has anyone ever put sling swivels into a Robertson Composites Pharr stock? My hunting rifle is at the gun doctor and will not be back for the season opener, so I am thinking about using my silhouette rifle instead. The forward sling swivel seems easy enough, but I think the rear one would require some sort of wood insert first.

Appreciate your thoughts.

I would not recommend you try to put sling studs on that stock, the carbon fiber shell is only about .030" thick, and the filler in the forearm is soft, also the rear of the stock is hollow, only expandable foam inside, neither end is strong enough to hold a sling stud, you will end up ruining a very desirable stock.
I suggest that if you have to have a sling, do what the Indians did before they invented slings, use a rope around the barrel and the rear of the stock.

Spare your stock and buy a 10/22 etc instead  As Evelio said you could mount them but if you actually used them it would be bad news real quick to expensive and rare a stock that is already inlet and bedded too for trying to mount a sling.

I've thought about one day taking my HP silhouette rifle out hunting but I would not do it in the Pharr stock it is in now and would get a plastic factory or aftermarket stock.

Well dang, I thought that would be the case but was hoping it could be done. These dang squirrels are really begging to be shot with a 54.18 frankenhunter and eley ammo :D :P

Dee, did you really say 10/22? I am ashamed of you, I did not think that phrase was allowed on this forum. But because you ask, I am one of the few that can say I have never owned the dreadful things, at least not that I can remember :D  One of the great things about getting old and forgetful is that some memories can be selectively lost!!!! :D :ymparty:

Don't knock all of them..... I have a Kidd 10/22 I had built for CMP and it will put pills in the same hole all day long. Granted it's not a stock 10/22, but is very accurate.

For all of my cheeky comments, I have debated on that very thing. A KID rifle with his wonderful two stage trigger may be the best CMP gun out there. Wish we got to shoot CMP more!
