We are strongly considering a move to Lead, South Dakota.... Cheapest state in the Union to live in, low real estate values, good motorcycling, good hiking, and a great little ski area close...... looking good to us.... The only thing to give me pause is.....do they shoot silhouette anywhere in South Dakota? Anybody know? I think there were a bunch of guys at the Ironman in Montana that were from South Dakota.....anybody on here know of them?

Kelly will lead you off into the weeds Bigfoot. You just can't trust them people from back east Dakota.
On & Off, you are going to have to learn how to speak Dakotan if you go back there.

If you go up to NDK you will have to learn oof-da.

Silhouette is alive and well in South Dakota. The wind can be a real issue here but it affects everyone and it does automatically handi-cap the better shooters. Innocent is correct in the assumption of prankster----He lives in Lead. Although I think he met his match in Raton and Innocent Mary is ahead by a couple points in the prank dept. Our state match is coming up soon. 22 in Mobridge at a brand new covered range and Hi-Power at my ranch. The 22 match will also have self-serve soft-serve ice cream. Banana-splits, icecream-cones, a dish of it with Hershey's syrup, have it your way at South Dakota. On another note we are the third leg of the Dakota Territory Silhouette Championship. I asked Mordecai to do a write-up here on Steel Chickens but he must be pretty busy. Anyway the winner will be decided by the combined score of the North Dakota, Wyoming, South Dakota, and Montana state championships--both 22 and hi-power in both std and hunter configuration. I will try to get Mike Coleman to post ALL the info as North Dakota has already been held----A few of us die-hards in South Dakota are trying to get a little friendly competition going between the four states. This year is the first, so we are a little behind the curve, but we are going to do it in the future so stay tuned to Steel Chickens. On a lighter note I was renting a car in Georgia about five years ago and the lady behind the desk thought I talked like the people in the movie "FARGO"!!!!! I told her NOBODY talks like that!!! I could not convince her though. Hope any and all you fine folks can make it to some of the matches here in the Dakota's, Wyoming, and Montana--all four which were part od Dakota Territory at one time. THANKS, Kelly Landis.

That answers my final concern about relocating to Lead.... think I'm on my way...... good motorcycling, good hiking, good skiing....and now good silhouette.... what more could a guy ask of a place to hang his hat.....except maybe a string to tie it on.......
