The 2015 Arizona Smallbore Rifle and Smallbore Hunter Rifle Silhouette State Championships

Dates: May 16 and 17, 2015

Range: Three Points Shooting Range, 23 miles west of I-19 on Ajo Way (Rt. 86), at Mile Post 148.

Eligibility: It is not a requirement that you be a member of the NRA or ASRPA to compete in this event.
ASRPA members will receive a $5.00 discount on entry fees.
You must be a NRA member to have any National Record scores recognized.

Rules: Current NRA rules will apply.

Ties: Ties will be broken by reverse animal count for daily awards,
a one shot shoot off for the aggregates, and a five shot shoot off for the championship.

Course of fire:
Match #1 – Standard 60 rounds - Saturday, May 16, morning - Hunter 60 rounds – Saturday, May 16, afternoon

Match #2 – Standard 60 rounds - Sunday, May 17, morning - Hunter 60 rounds – Sunday, May 17, afternoon

Match #3 - Arizona State Championships - aggregate of matches 1 & 2

Times: 09:00 on Saturday and Sunday. Practice will be from 07:00 – 08:45 on match days.
Range will be available for practice all day on Friday, no range fee required.

Entry: Advance entry is required. Advance entries will be accepted until May 13, 2015
Competitors wishing to share rifles and requests for shooter-coach pairs must combine their advance entries to assure proper squadding.
If you are unsure about attending the Match, please go ahead & send in your entry form anyway or call the match director so that you can be squadded. Fees can be paid when you arrive for the match. This will save last minute paperwork and squadding difficulties.
Post entries will be taken to fill vacancies in established relays & no requests for shooter-coach pairs will be honored.

Entry Limits: 64 rifles, 4 relays, 4 banks of animals per each Standard & Hunter Matches.

Entry Fees: Matches 1, 2, and 3 - $75.00. Second rifle - $25.00. Juniors - $15.00 only
Super, Super Seniors - $15.00 only
Entries received on or before May 4, 2015 will receive a $10.00 early entry
discount. ASR&PA proof must accompany entry to receive $5.00 discount.


Coaching: A Shooter may have one person with them on the line to spot shots, coach and keep time. The coach may not touch the shooter or their equipment during the firing period. This person must stay behind the line of shooters.

Classification: NRA Rifle Silhouette Classification will be used. Classification books must be presented when registering. Competitors without classification books will be required to purchase a book and will fire Match #1 in Master Class with the resulting score establishing their classification for succeeding matches.

Scoring: Successive relays will score each relay shooting.

Jury: A jury of three persons will be selected and they will act as the final authority on protests or disputes concerning procedures, equipment or other controversies.

Equipment: Rifles must meet NRA specifications. All rifles will be weighed and certified before each match. Uncertified rifles will not be allowed on the firing line. If any parts have to be taken off of a rifle to make weight, these parts will be held at the stat office until completion of the match, it will be the responsibility of the competitor to claim these parts after the match.

Awards: Awards will be given to Match Winner and the classes: Master, AAA, AA, A, and B in Matches 1 & 2 Awards for Match 3, the Arizona State Championships, will be awarded as follows: State Champion/ High Arizona Resident/ 2nd Place/ 3rd Place/ depending on # of entries and places in each of AAA, AA, A, & B classes. Further awards will be given to: High Super, Super Senior (80 yrs. & older), High Super Senior (70 yrs. – 79yrs.), High Senior (60 yrs.- 69yrs.), High Woman, High Junior, Intermediate Junior, and Sub-Junior, provided there are at least two competitors in each special group listed. Row-Pins will be given and long-runs will be fired at the completion of each day’s match.

Safety: All safety rules will be strictly enforced. Failure to comply with safety rules will be the basis for disqualification. Open-Bolt Indicators are required in all rifles when not in use.

Food/lunch: Food will be available for purchase.

Damn bob.................. I thought we were going to have 6 banks with 15 animals per bank. Seems I have welded up 2 extra sets.

Hey match is coming up next weekend, everything is looking in pretty good shape. As a side note make sure you have enough water to drink at the match. Southern Az hasn't had a lot of rain this year and the range is bone dry. We have about seventy some entry's right now, with the new stands we have room for 96, so if you would like to shoot the match download a form and send it in. See you this weekend!

Great match in Tucson this last weekend, even was cold on Saturday AM. Great turn out. lots of fun and good to see so many good friends there, including 35 from El Paso (could have been the Texas State Championships) .

They pulled the boards down so couldn't get a picture, maybe JB can get the final listing from May to post. I left right after the match so Didn't get all the details, but I believe John Mullins was the State Hunter Champ and forgot who JB told be won the Standard rifle.

Hey Thanks to all who shot the Match, especially the guys from El Paso, scores should be posted later on.

Mario Flores (El Paso) was Standard Match Winner with a 100 and John Mullins from Phoenix was Hunter Match Winner with a 98. There were 69 competitors. I don't have the rest of the scores.
