Wikipedia is a good starting place because it has summaries and references that are a good starting place, especially since political science isn't my area. For academic research, it's just a lousy place to finish for those same reasons.

If I had that kind of resource when I was in school you'd all be calling me Dr. Kitty now.

Liberals have always been interested in change and, so, been at odds with conservatives. But just as there are many kinds of conservatives, there are many kinds of liberals, and the more extreme flavors of both are at least a little bit nuts. I favor health care reform because the current system has (a) Run amok with cost and (b) Put us at a competitive disadvantage in the global market. I favor some market place regulation because the alternative is a meltdown some experts currently peg at 2 trillion dollars, and it started with reckless credit and ended with a multi-trillion dollar derivatives market based on smoke and mirrors. Leave the kids unsupervised and stuff gets broken.

And then the fight started...

Bob259, Blue Balls is a name that Sgt Ducky was calling him at Winny this last summer, it probably didn't stick to long because he didn't hang around for the whole match, just air rifle.

Commander Kitty, WHile I might give some credit to BB's remark that Wikapedia is a starting place because of the summaries, if I ever used that as a quoted source it got an F. Too unreliable and...oh boy lets not go there I'm not at work this week so I will stay away from the 'verifible objective evidence' terms and requirments.

Besides, there is nothing wrong with the title Commander, who wants it Piled Higher and Deeper?

Bob259, you should check out the digitized boob mashers they have now for mamograms. Replaced the dark room and all the lead covers, waiting for the xrays to come out and all that jazz, kind of cool.

It is at mine too, if you cite it. However, used as a source to develop ideas and find initial primary sources it's a useful, legitimate tool. Like a rough or initial draft is just a starting point, not a finished product.

Did you want information or a formal synthesis with primary sources? I'd have to start with a historical overview of Liberalism, probably from Enlightenment philosophers through the modern era, then socialism from, what, The French Revolution through the industrial revolution and into the way it's practiced in Scandinavian countries? Then contrast it all?

Dang Mary, that sounds like a dissertation! And this crowd snoozed out on the summary!

Dissertations, I've done my share thanks, as for my comment, forget the 'educated' answer and do some soul searching for the common sense logical answer. If you can't come up with that, then go back to my CPA's favorite statement form many years of quality lab, one he learned from a German rocket scientist. "If you can't figure it out , stand on your head and look at it."

Organized Labor??? What else is he going to push, Nationalized businesses?

Hopefully, I'll get to hang around Winny for the whole party this year. Older Son gets promoted to "Probationary Member" (they used to call it Deacon, and it's earned after two years of Seminary in the United Methodist Church) this year at Annual Conference, which immediately follows Winnsboro every year. Since both groups are insensitive to my needs, I do the best I can.

Mary, I'm pretty sure it was the graduate studies that put me in the cardiac unit, not The Challenge. That sounded like fun but this paper chase crap ...
