Like I've said, if you dislike the scoundrel in office, then run your own. Just remember, they are all stinkers.

You can limit the damage he does if you get out and help kill this government-run healthcare bill. Until he gets that through, or fails at that and loses so much credibility that he can't push much of anything, he won't touch other issues like gun control. Government-controlled healthcare is his biggest campaign promise. If he doesn't deliver, he's basically going to have lost all momentum from the election and have to start all over again with a rapidly falling approval rating. If he doesn't have his "The whole world loves me and does what I say!" speech to back up his request, then Congress is free to tell him to take a hike.

What I know for sure in the health care debate is that a thing has to get pretty screwed up before people believe the government can make it better...

Term limits, congress needs term limits. Healthcare is a sneaking way around getting at the gun registration, just as the overall making it socially unacceptable to discuss shooting in schools. If you don't believe it try bringing up responsible shooting sports in a college class.

I do it anyway, Mary, as desensitization training. Most students know what they hear and read about guns and we have been pretty invisible so there is little or no positive reference to guns in our society. I'm foolish enough to step politely into that "void".
Mary, I know you don't shoot from the hip so what's the connection between health care reform and gun control? I don't see it - the connections anti-gun folks could make are easily defeated.
