Obama's religious affiliation is unclear - there's no evidence he's Muslim, but his Christian affiliation looks odd. I'm unfamiliar with the prophetic tradition of many black denominations and understand that may be the reason. And race... I've already discussed that in earlier posts, but to recap, every black "friend" I've ever had betrayed me so I've learned distrust. Biden is a true liberal attack dog, so anything he says needs careful scrutiny.

McCain is a genuine hero, and he is also further to the right politically than I would like. There are some serious disagreements between me and the Republican party, but there's no point going into that here - everyone knows I'm further to the left than most in the gun community and the details don't matter. Palin... My immediate reaction to her is distrust, probably because she's an unknown. I'll just have to watch. She is inexperienced for the job, but that isn't an automatic dis-qualifier, just a check point. Comparisons to Obama on this don't add to her credibility, only make the point that it isn't a dis-qualifier.

Unknown to you? While I give you credit for reading a lot of (mis)information apparently primarily from what you find on the internet/news media becasue you have missed knowing who Palin is doesn't mean that she is an unknown.
A lot of the information out there is speculation and press related opinion.
I tend to look for voting records, and listen to actual speeches from the candidates themselves. I trust my ability to hear and comprehend what someone says myself better than what a member of the press says.
Actions, body language, and spoken word tell a lot more about a persons character than others opinions will ever do.

I NEVER vote strictly party lines as I consider myself intelligent enough to make my own decisions. One of my major mistakes was totally supporting Louisiana Governor Blanco based on her performance as Lt. Gov. She was not capable of dealing from her feet. However, it seems that Sarah Palin as proven that she can lead and do it in a manner that I can agree with.
