Roswell

My trip to NM was unannounced to my CPA (current pelvic affiliation) for several reasons, primarily to go toe to toe (as Dawg would call it) with a "friend" of Don's who held 12 of his guns for him for safekeeping while he came back to Florida for shoulder surgery in Jan.. The surgery was not performed for a number of reasons but he spent four months here in PT before returning to Atresia where the property is. After several weeks he had a safe installed and went to retrieve his firearms from his friend...he recieved the 5 air guns and one 'boat shotgun' back. The six precision firearms including and Annie with 6.5-20 leupy, a 700 in 222 with a Doulas barrel, a Smith 41 with red dot...etc were not returned, and each time Don asked about them his friend became angry and denied having them, telling him that he must have left them in Raton with his other guns (at another friends house). Don had bought the inventory list back to Florida with him and left it with me, so he went to Raton after I sent him a copy to see if he had mismarked his list and to get his other guns. While ther he was going to shoot some p-dogs with a Sako and another 700 that I had given him. He was sighting them in at Whittington on the 8th, and while driving back to town he totalled his truck (thus my not appearing immediately for my AAA trophy in the YouTube clip). He was lucky in the several competitors from a match going on at WC came upon the accident and gathered up all the guns and equipment and took it into BJ's Shootin shop for him while he was in the hospital.
Upon his return to Artesia Don spent several days getting his friend alone and then showing him the inventory list which had everything correctly marked...the man again insisted that the guns had never been given to him so Don suggested that he would have to report them missing with last known place being at this mans place of business. He was told to arrive at the business at 10 am the next day and his friend would call law enforcement and they could each give their statements. Having heard that I made a call to an friend of a fellow club shooter here that night, unable to get him I left a message as to what was going on. Some how between going to church on that evening and praying about it until sometime around 04:30 in the morning (according to his friend) the missing firearms showed up under a bed at his house in a bed room that no one had been in over a year.
I felt it was time I met a such a wealthy man that he has over 325 guns in his collection, and uses God as guide to find missing guns when it becomes apparent that there is some written proof of ownership of said guns.
In dealing with a man in his own territorty the element of surprise has it's benefits. I will say that I remained cordial but I do not believe that the man likes me, not that I really care.
As for going to Roswell to shoot, it was to get Don away from Artestia and to a match such that my going to shoot in El Paso (200+ miles away) was not a big deal...as the match in El Paso had several medical professionals present that were prepared to talk with him and get the concept of having an MRI done a little more plausible...as his shoulder has been re-injured and he being the stubborn man that he is, refuses to see local medical profession.
So JB as to whether I was probed in Roswell...I am surprised that you would ask such a question, but I will answer that with 'use your own imagination.' I will say that I was at the very least verbally probed by several that were surprised to see me. And I made it worth my while to go to Hobbs and pick up another Premier that had been for sale there for over a year, and I couldn't get Mike B to pick it up for me.
That my friend is my story and I'm sticking to it...hope to see you in CO if I'm not working with the liberal Italian (Dutch actually), Canadians and the Swiss, hopefully we will be done testing by that weekend.
