I've seen a lot of Marbles Tang sights, more than Lyman marbe.

I use Redfield 75 on all 3 rifles... I don't see piece of wood on there.... was litteraly beat by a guy with a block of wood and a hole drilled in it last month....
I voted buckhorn for my wife.... she almost beat both of us with buckhorn sights.... all she will use....

Marble Arms tang on a Henry Frontier Long Barrel, Winchester 1873 & Marlin 336 XLR. Just installed a Marble Arms tang sight on my grandson's Henry H001. The Marlin used to have Williams receiver peep.

Re: Rear Sights
Marbles tang on 5 of 6 rifles. 6th is a custom receiver sight similar to a Williams. You may want to reboot your survey to add for Marbles and an "other" category.

Re: Rear Sights
I'm the odd man out. I prefer Hoke vernier tangs. WAY easier to read than MVAs. Tim Hoke makes single hole mounts for the 39A, 1894 and 1895. Pic attached of one mounted on my 1894 CBL.

Re: Rear Sights
We have five Williams and one redfield. I'm not a big fan of the Williams, but their mounting options/versions make life easy. Another one showing up at matches is Paul Viola's custom receiver sight, made in PA.

Re: Rear Sights
As of yet Paul doesn't have a web site for his sights. I will post a photo of the sight I bought from him. They are well made. Similar to a Williams receiver sight but better.

Re: Rear Sights
Does the single hole Hoke sight base use the tang screw plus another drilled and tapped hole?

Re: Rear Sights
The Hoke mounts for the Marlins use the tang screw hole. No additional tapped mounting holes needed. Tim provides a lengthened tang screw to accomodate the thickness of the mount. The mount for the 1895 45-70 I have has the pivot further back to allow enough clearance for the bolt throw.
