George, Jason won a custom highpower rifle at saturday nights raffle after dinner. Remington 700 in .260 with a Shilen barrel,a Steve Wooster stock, a set of Marvin Pearsons rings, a Jewell trigger, with work done by Keith Carins who turned a custom profile for the barrel, Marvin who threaded and chambered the barrell to the action and Steve Wooster who inleted and bedded it in one of his stocks, green marble faded to all black. This is one smooth highpower rifle that everybody wanted to win.

Give me a bit and there will be pictures, George. I got home really late last night and had to unload everything and get ready to be at work bright and early this morning... and then I couldn't sleep so I had to get up and get a scope on the rifle so I could play with it. Now I'm dragging today. (-|

Don't worry. Gratuitous rifle porn is coming. :D

As promised, I posted a thread with pictures of the new gun in the High Power Rifle forum. Here's a teaser. Go to the other thread for the good pictures.

Thanks durant7 for giving us the winners and the scores. Certainly must have been another weekend of fine weather. I'll be looking for the complete match bulletin. Best wishes

I dont know how anyone from the southern states managed to stay warm enough, even us pac norsters were cold and we live here. Saturday felt like 35 even in the sun, but how could you get warm enough with 5 to 10 minutes of sun and half an hour to an hour of rain, with the wind blowing a constant 10 to 15 miles per hour, repeat all day long. Sunday was better, warmed up to 36 :)) naw maybe in the upper 40's to low 50's with sunshine all day long. Overall typicall global warming weather for washington [-( . Agian thanks to Steve Wooster and everybody who helped put the CBC match on, it only keeps getting better.

Don't mind getting beat by the young ones, especially if they're cute. It's getting beat by the old ones that hurts.

You could have had the compassion to blur out my line on that before you posted it. I got told yesterday that my job just barely made the cut to not get laid off yesterday and the next time it probably won't. I don't need to be reminded that my scores at the Conard Cup this year were significantly lower than last year. :))

So just how much do you want for you silhouette rifles? Just trying to help a friend out!

I'm sure you to worth to much for Mr. Gates to let you go. You could do the government thing and never finish you project so they cann't fire you until it's finished.

Know what your saying, Jason. I had to pay on arrival this year because we had a layoff just before the CBC. Now there's rumor of another layoff coming in October. Just think, though, if we get laid off there's more time to practice and your scores will go up!

But the problem is once we get that notice... "We're sorry it's been nice, but don't call us, we'll call you if we ever need you again" we won't be able to afford the ammo or gas to go and practice... let alone the stuff to reload for HP which 'if' you can find it now is hard to afford even if you are working. At one of the recent shows a few tables were charging anywhere from $60 - $100 a 1,000 for primers

The wife received a 10% pay cut last month and they also let people go, so now she is doing 3 peoples work, working 70+ hours a week just to try and keep up for 10% less pay but in the mean time food along with property and school taxes are going up 5+% every year. Not good anywhere and we'll all be where the politicians want us, living under the bridges soon.
