St.Louis MO HP Regional Match

Post by Bob Mc Alice »

August 21-22. This is a 120 shot (3-40's both guns) match. The conditions are consistantly the calmest I have ever experienced. Several of us from CO are going again and I hear some AZ shooters are going, too. So who else is planning to go?

McAlice: Thanks for the advertising. I (as match director) could use a bunch of competitors for the Regional....it gives me persuasion abilities with the board of directors....you know ... new targets etc. Don't forget to tell the folks about our great facility.....and the food and drink

Alright John!, glad to see you and the young'n going. Heck..it it right in your neck of the woods, down the road a piece. :D

Tell the good folks about the facility ? Happy to do it Bob....er.. Snake

Lets start with the food. I can already taste the St.Louis style BBQ dinner Sat.nite. MMMMMMMmmm. Then there is the usual burgers , brats, and those spicey Honduie things with all the usual condiments, chips, drinks, dessert etc. for lunch. Then we get to eat all the left over BBQ again for lunch on Sunday. The food alone is worth the trip.

The club house is more like a Club Med resort for shooters. Really big air conditioned room with a 8ft. pool table, big screen TV and cable of course, full compliment kitchen, M & F bathrooms with a couple of quality shower stalls each. The place even has full hook up RV spaces on site and a short walk to the firing line. You cant ask for a better location, right in the middle of the United States of America. Equally accessable to most every one, well except for the down under foreigners. :(

And the conditions, like I said I cant remember ever having the turn the windage knobs on the Leupolds...like shooting indoors at times.

And the best part. These guys are serious about shooting HP. This is a no BS, true grit , Mother of all Iron Man match. A full 240 rounds of highpower fired for score plus practice. #:-s This match is not for sissies. :) No serious HP shooter should miss this one.

Snake..you nailed it when you said "this is a better than Nationals experience". Way better in my opinion by a long shot. Pun intended. See ya soon.

Only thing is, when a 68 pound 11 year old girl successfully shoots the match you won't be able to call it an "Iron man" match anymore :D Looking forward to shooting there, Mini Kitty is excited.

Mach 2 wrote:=)) Did you use a cutting torch for the castration ?
I was thinking plasma cutter, but the mental image alone was pretty painful.

I think there's way too much interest in castration....but if you must know the details....I had a couple ewes complain at 'em until the goods fell off.........you married guys understand. FYI....Lapua will be on premises for the regional and will provide stuff as prizes etc

From what I've seen and heard, someone has been ringing rams with his big manly 7-08 and even his .308. Something about a goatru or close to it.

That is Guru Sir to you, JB. Why dont you hook yourself up with a cheap airline ticket to St.Louis. Me and Bonner will pick you up and you can room with us.

Leave your gun at home. There is no point to lugging a pea shooter around airports to shoot in a mans rifle match. I will bring along an extra 7-08 man gun for you to use...if you think you can take the recoil all weekend.

Careful JB... Hambone and Byron roomed together at the Nationals and they haven't been the same since. Overheard Byron saying something about not liking that spooning thing

Bob, Like JB I see your selling them manly guns and hear your looking for a 6.5 :D

Hit e'm hard... Hit e'm with a 6.5 :D

McAlice, You are tempting me!

Bob259, The James gang was robbing a train for the first time, Jesse gets on the train and fires a couple of shots in the air (for good measure), and Jesse hollers out "I'm going to rob every woman and rape every man on this train", a guy sitting close says " you have that all backwards don't ya"? A squeeky falsetto voice in the back says "You let this man rob the train the way he wants"! So let Bone and Bryon spoon the way they want, even let the other guys clean their .22's the way they want. Even let Bob keep on shooting a 7mm, so says I.
