easier to find a good deal on new wife. BUT if you like the one you got keep her and the annie. good for you G 'oW. it is after all a hobby. good points from all, in 3 yars when your schedule opens up replacing the 54 will be crazy expensive. on the other hand if you get the ruger rocking why would you want to? half the fun with this sport is messing with the gear(like in archery) imagine a 77/22 in a pharr with a sweet trigger. nice and not cookie cutter. it would be like getting into
the sport all over again, and that is about the best experiance silhouette can give anyone,
if the wife or annie does come on the market please post pix.

Wife???
Dave, you may be right though. I might not be making enough time to shoot because I'm getting bored with things. After thinking about it, I always shoot more when I get some new gear or a new rifle. I think its time to rekindle my excitement on the range.

good onya mate! wife keeping seems to be a safe way to go. find the love and the love will find you. THE most important thing is to have fun doing what after all, should be fun.
i wouldnt trade my wife for 2 or 3 1710's. 3 annies and a holland and holland double and we can negoiate.

Very pragmatic. Mother-in-Law part of the package? Not interested, already have my own, just asking...silhouette13 wrote:good onya mate! wife keeping seems to be a safe way to go. find the love and the love will find you. THE most important thing is to have fun doing what after all, should be fun.

I have a 1712 in a pharr stock, and I pull it out every spring, and I can't get to like it. I can say that the factory Anschutz stock feels better balanced to me.

must admit, i am pretty fond of the factory macmillian my self. classic. and not to start a poop fest, the pharr is pushing the "hunter style stock " rule a bit. not judging just sayin' but the monte carlo rollover stock is used on annie huning guns with actual iron sights.

Re: Pharr stocked 1712 for sale???
seems the black mcmillian is pretty close to the wood stocked 17 series rollover. i would say exact in fact, 1710 D Kl or 1712 silhouette. so ,feel wise, it doesnt change the facts that the mcmillian put on by champion shooters or who ever is a more traditional "hunter style" style. thanks for pointing the facts out though Hambone, didnt add much to the conversation but thanks.

You're welcome, and although it's never a good idea to rely on Hambone's "facts", the Pharr stock is legal. Period. And slings and bipods are not.

I agree with the above statement. Great look and feel to the rifle. MY 54msr is a far better shooting gun than I am a shooter. I would love to get a non thumbhole black mcmillian stock for it. I also would like a 1712 With Black Mcmillian stock.ter wrote:I have a 1712 in a pharr stock, and I pull it out every spring, and I can't get to like it. i would absolutely be shooting a pharr right now, if funds(wife) premitted. IS absolutely legal. it fits the jig. i will shoot squirrels with one to authenticate its viability as a hunting stock. i do the the stock 1710/12 rollover too.classic and elegant .

Re: Pharr stocked 1712 for sale???
After shooting my Pharr-stocked 1712 for silhouette matches, I have already rebuilt two factory stocks that I do hunt with. If I had the extra cash lying around, I'd have a Pharr RTS stock on my primary hunting rifle and have it hydro-dipped into the camo pattern of my choice. Something similar to this one would be great...
