My first post on this board, and already a question.Has anyone used the Marksman Pellet Trap?I looked at one for backyard practice and they seem a little lite weight for my HW97. Thanks Warren edit/the one with the Sil. animals on swingers

Yep, I have. It took a beating with my springer that shoots the 8gr .177 caliber pellets at around 800fps. It's also pretty loud to have the pellets hitting that metal. I tried stuffing the target with old t-shirts and other things but that kept me from being able to use the silhouette targets, so I had to cut out pieces of cardboard the size of the front of the target. I finally got annoyed with it and started buying/building others.

You just gave me an awesome idea. I can take the little hanging silhouette animals and use them with the pellet traps that I build (see post and pictures below). Thanks!

I run a .20cal HW97k at one of the 22 cal. rimfire traps. I put a swinger I purchased on e-bay in front of it. Shoot 10m paper targets ar 15 yards in the basement and the NRA Airgun Chicken swinger when I get bored of the paper. I had shot using a standard pellet trap for about a month > but beteen the .20 HW97K and my buddies .22 cal PCP Marauder, the back was blown out (no kidding, a huge bulge and a hole  ). That is when I got the .22 rimfire trap. Very sturdy.

I've been shooting in the lower range,(basement),with a .22 trap. Its 3/16" thick and it handles the .177 pellets OK.I can only go 20ft.on my range,so I've been shooting paper with 3/8'' dot,and I wanted to try the Marksman sil. trap outdoors with my HW97, were I can move each animal swinger to the proper distance.I could use my .22 trap but have'nt been able to find the proper swingers.I've e-mailed Marksman about purchasing replacement targets, but have'nt heard from them yet.Paper targets are fine,I'm just wanting to try the regulation targets.I tried making copies of the animals on paper but its just not the same. Thanks Warren
