Air Arms TX 200
Looking at this rifle, I would have to purchase online. Some of the ari rifles I have held seem bulky. Can anyone offer up on theTX200, does it feel/handle like a sporter type rifle- I know its a bit vague. But any help would be greatly appreciated.
thanks

I have a TX200 along with a few PCP's the AA S400, AA S400MPR and a Styer LG modified by Zansky (sp) for Field Target. The S400 feels more like a sporter/hunter, but it's not a pump type rifle. I find the TX heavy, like most springers, but it shoots great and you will not need a scuba tank to fill.chuck d wrote:Looking at this rifle, I would have to purchase online. Re: Air Arms TX 200
My son got this air rifle in .177 for me to practice with. The TX200 feels a little heavy, but does not weigh much more than my 1712 with the same scope and rings installed. I have 6.5x20 EFR's on both with BKL 257H rings. I have gotten the trigger on the TX200 very close to my 1712. My son has taken it and used it in Texas along with Innocent, Both winning their classes. So it is a great shooter. (especially in the hands of great shooters like them) It has improved my SB scores greatly. It makes you have to follow through which will help anyone practicing. I have regulation targets (swingers) set up behind my house so I can go out and practice at any time. If buying make sure you get the Air Arms TX200 MkIII not the carbine. You cant go wrong with this air rifle, probably the best springer made.

They are great rifles, I have one myself. You could probably save a nice chunk of change finding a used one to buy. They have been plentiful and cheaper than ever lately it seems with everyone going to PCP these days.

Re: Air Arms TX 200
I tried the BKL rings and Leupold 6.5-20 EFR on my TX 200 and it kept coming loose, so the cheap Chinese double-screw rings were used instead.
The TX200 is probably overweight (technically) for a sporter class air rifle but nobdy has challenged anyone yet. I'll bet mine is over 10 pounds with the scope and rings.
The TX200 is for sporter air rifle like a 1712 is to hunter class smallbore. The winner will probably be using one.

Re: Air Arms TX 200
I have a TX200 that I bought twenty years ago and it shot very well. I had Paul Watts do an advance tune job on it and the gun shoots dime size groups out to fifty yards off the bench. You can't go wrong with a spring gun like that.
Keeping them targets falling!! one after another
