New Toy!
My new toy FINALLY arrived today (after 6 weeks). I can't wait to shoot it, but they didn't tell it didn't come with the adaptor for the scuba tank.
I had it customized to get the maximum velocity out of it. (I'll keep you posted)
Now I need to find a Foster 12FSS to scube tank adaptor.
I hope there is a paint ball dealer in town that has one.

Contact Joe Brancato at http://www.airtanksforsale.com
He has every type of fitting available and the quality is much better thana paintball shop's chinese fittings.
A gun should always come with a filling adapter, just like a cartridge gun should come with a magazine. Maybe the seller felt that field target shooters would already have a fitting.

Just a question, not trying to start a war
Is this configuration legal for metallic silhouette with cheek piece raising above the bore line?

Re: New Toy!
I hope you planned on shimming the rear rings. That scope has to be at least 3" above the bore center line and will probably require some pretty major shimming to get out to the rams without running out of scope adjustment. Unless they built in compensation to the rail the rings are mounted to but I highly doubt that since this is supposed to be a 10m rifle. This is the Edge Model right?
And who in the hell sells airguns without FILL ADAPTORS INCLUDED!!! What do they expect you to just wrap your lips around it and blow! Honestly I wish they would all just stop with their proprietary BS fill adapters that was all just connect to foster fittings anyway and put a damn foster fitting on the fill valve!
I will be interested to see what you think about the rifle. People seem to either love or hate AirForce rifles it seems not a lot of in between. Hope it is all you were wanting. Check out the Talon Forums if you haven't already they have all sorts of mods for the trigger etc you may want to check out.

Re: New Toy!
Not sure how hard they are about that rule with 10m air rifles. It seems they allow a little more leeway in the setup so long as it remains in its stock form overall I guess. I have my 8002 set right on the bore line just like my smallbore rifle for consistency in hold.Boris wrote:Just a question, not trying to start a war

I probably remove the risers under the scope. I had them on there when I had it on a Walther junior gun. I had it boosted to the max velocity so I'm anxious to chrono it to see what the velocity is.Dee wrote:I hope you planned on shimming the rear rings. Yes, it's an AirForce Edge.
I called them today and reamed them out for not even offering the fill hose! $87 extra. You'd think they'd try to sell me everything they could. Now, if I order it from them I'll have to pay extra shipping.Dee wrote:And who in the hell sells airguns without FILL ADAPTORS INCLUDED!!! The rule book states:Boris wrote:Just a question, not trying to start a war
Is this configuration legal for metallic silhouette with cheek piece raising above the bore line?
"3.3 (a) Air Rifle: Any unaltered factory target air rifle designed for U. S. and International 10 meter competition."
In the "Precision Air Rifle" and the "International Rifle (and Air Rifle)" books it makes no mention of the height of the comb. Only how far below the bore axis the stock or pistol grip can extend.

I will be interested to know how many shots and with what power level can be squeezed from such a small air cylinder. Enough for a 40 shots match without refill?

Just so you know, your Edge is legal for open class air rifle, but not for target class. The Edge is a field target gun and not a 10 meter gun. The only limitation on open class air rifles is a limitation that length from action breech to end of barrel can't exceed 40 inches.
The Edge is popular among field target shooters, but they shoot sitting with the rifle supported by their knee. How does it fit for offhand shooting?

Ok, help me out here. I know it is advertised as a "Fielt Target" air rifle, however, I looked through the International Rifle (Includes International Air rifle) and I must have missed something. From the equipment descriptions, I can't seem to find any restriction that would cause my Edge to fail the requirements. Could someone please point out where the destinction lies. That way I may be able to modify the rifle to fit within the guidelines. Thanks.

so i looked over the rules for intl air rifle(in the intl rifle book) a 10 meter intl air rifle designed for 10m competition would have to have sights, since optics are prohibited. that "could " be enough for someone to say it is not designed for that game.
also 2 measuremnts could "maybe" not conform...the forend depth can only be 3.5" from center bore, you are probably good there, the grip can only be 6.25 at its lowest point..may be ok there too. the lack of sigths seems to be the glare for keeping it out of the target rifle class.

also, i dont think it will be possible to get it into the target rifle class . rule 3.3 a says unaltered and designed for. both seem firmly set rules.

Re: New Toy!
I'll have to measure the forend and grip depth to be sure. As for the sights, the iron sights were removed. That shouldn't be an issue since all of the rifles in target class at Winnsboro had the iron sights removed and a scope installed.silhouette13 wrote: also 2 measuremnts could "maybe" not conform...the forend depth can only be 3.5" from center bore, you are probably good there, the grip can only be 6.25 at its lowest point..may be ok there too. the lack of sigths seems to be the glare for keeping it out of the target rifle class.

Re: New Toy!
You could make the case that "unaltered" refers to a 10m rifle that was altered so that it no longer fits into that description, not a rifle that was altered to conform TO the rules. As for "designed for U.S. and international 10 m competition" this is very vague. It also lists certain manufacturers, does this mean you can only use these manufacturers? That seems to be an elitist and arbitrary decision. If you can't afford a $2000 rifle, you can't play. If it fits the limits put forth in the rules, it should be allowed, regardless of brand.silhouette13 wrote:also, i dont think it will be possible to get it into the target rifle class . rule 3.3 a says unaltered and designed for. both seem firmly set rules.

The rules are designed so that there is not an unfair advantage. I'm not sure how can you consider having a $400 rifle an advantage over a $2000 rifle?
Also, the Sporter Air Rifle also indicates "any unaltered factory sporter air rifle". Are the Air Arms Tx-200 sold as "sporter air rifles"? How many of these rifles have been "boosted"? That sounds like an alteration to me.
