IZH 46M & TAU 7 Target Pistol Velocity Test

Post by RickK »

I was curious as to what kind of Velocity the IZH 46M produced with a few different pellets.

RWS R10 Match 8.2 gr 8 Rounds SD 2.0, ES 6.3 FPS, AVG 451.5 FPS
RWS R10 Match 7.0 gr 5 Rounds SD 2.2, ES 5.4 FPS, AVG 482.1 FPS
Crossman Premier Ultra Mag 10.5 gr 5 Rounds SD 11.8, ES 28.8FPS, AVG 380.8 FPS

TAU 7 Target Pistol with a 12gram CO2 cartridge inserted.
RWS R10 Match 7.0 gr. I fired 60 Rounds to see what I could expect during a Typical 10 Meter Match
The High was Round #26 @ 490.9 FPS, the Low was Round #59 @ 478.4 FPS SD 3.2, ES 12.5 FPS, AVG 484.8 FPS

I continued Shooting until the CO2 Cartridge was empty Rounds 61 thru 69 High 481 FPS, Low 461 FPS, SD 6.9, ES 20.1 FPS, AVG 472.5 FPS
Rounds 70 thru 79 High 456 FPS, Low 311 FPS ( CO2 OUT ) SD 50, ES 145 FPS, AVG 406 FPS

Shooting a 10 Meter match I would insert a new CO2 Cartridge after 45 or so shots.
With the IZH 46M I would just keep Shooting.
The RWS R10 Match 7.0 gr Pellet is the best performer and will send the Ram's Flying with either pistol.
Either Pistol would be great at Air Silhouette, I do prefer the TAU 7 with the better grip and balance.

I'll post some results from my ALFA proj 10 Meter Air Rifle, also uses a 12gram CO2 Cartridge.
