Re: High Power Calibers...
They wanted $579 for the basic stainless steel model, wouldn't match anything that wasn't local and the choices in calibers were garbage. 243 and .270 no 7mm08 or 260Rem
Will have to resort to seeing what basspro has
Lastly does a Florida concealed weapons permit allow you to walk out with the rifle the same day in other states aswell??? I do have 750miles of road in front of me about a week from now!
This whole high power idea is hitting the fan fast.

I just got my Thompson Center Venture sighted in. With the 3X9 on 4 power I was able to zero with 3 shots touching. Seems very well made and action is slick. Adjustable trigger on lt went to 3 lbs, but its a crisp 3 lbs. It's in 7-08, I love it. Put 30 rounds thru it, nicer than my 308. Runs just over 8lbs with scope. Used 38 gr RL15 with a 150 Sie.
Looks like I'm a new 7-08 fan

Sounds like you got a good rifle Chuck. I use that exact recipe in two of my 7-08 practice guns. That is a good load to use on all of the targets and the 150gr. MK does reliably knock our rams down. Now just get yourself a scope for silhouette and your good to go.

Snake, it's your thick air there in MO that keeps your animals from falling. Here in the high country our animals fall over with a slight nudge.Snake wrote:Holy cow McAlice....what the heck kinda rams do you guys have? What are they aluminum? Extra thin or what? The dry air in AZ is a lot thicker than the moist air in MO and the 6.5 shooting 142s works well here.
