till think raise the match fee a bit and hire some Hooter's girls or Local Artistic Dancers  and have them reset targets in bikinis. Not only would it draw in a lot more people but it would probably increase scores since unhit targets wouldn't need to be reset. I can imagine all the spotting going on between relays. To check on conditions of course =))
And I would be there just to laugh my ass off at you guys doing what guys do.

People have no patience now-a-days. They want instant gratification. I've noticed that the gun games at our club which are thriving can collectively be called, "Spray and Pray" shooting. These people are slinging lead downrange as fast as they can. The targets are big and close. There is no accuracy involved. Speed and image is everything.

In all seriousness, the only thing I can think of which would help our sport would be targets which automatically reset (The Bianchi Cup uses pnuematics to reset the plate racks). This would allow people to spend more time shooting, and less time waiting. Of course, this would be very expensive.

I have found a new victim....da..ta...dut..duh. I'm being a little selfish right now because the nationals are coming up and don't want the distraction but after that we have a new 22 silhouette shooter.

Kevin is one of the people I was talking about above who consistently brings out new shooters. I feel like he should get some recognition for that.

He also got ME to come out and try out the sport. And look what a wonderful addition I have been to the bunch. :-B

Seriously though I've recently moved to a new subdivision sort of in the country and am pleasantly surprised by how many gun people there are around me now. The son of the guy across the street really likes silhouette but is a little put off by the price of the guns but he's struggling with his first job out of college. He's one of my long term candidates, he gets to making some money and I could see him buying his own gun. I really enjoy introducing people to silhouette or skeet especially if they have never shot a gun in their life, that excitement that comes with hitting their first targets is great to watch. Knowing that once a person has spent a couple of times breaking clay targets or smacking steel no one will ever be able to convince them that guns are inherently evil is very satisfying to me. Eric across the street had NEVER touched a firearm before he met me. :D I think he shot a 16 last time at silhouette. YEA!!!!

Trent,
I can see where you are coming from, it is nice that new shooters normally shoot for free or low cost. but that does not really encourage the regulars to bring out new shooters.
I know that since I started shooting SB silhouette last year I have brought my nephews out, and now they shoot when they can. Although it costs me more since I am providing the ammo when they shoot.
I have also brought out my friend and he brought one of his friends, they have not been back out but they really enjoyed it and I think that I can get them to come out again.
