Does the NRA post National Results?
The title pretty much says it all. Does the NRA post results from the National events? When and where can we find them?
Thanks everyone.
Thanks everyone.

Re: Does the NRA post National Results?
It would be way too easy to post the results on the NRA web site the day after the match. Just like it would be way too easy to list up and comming shoots a few days after they are approved. We have to be 'old school' and mail the stuff out 6 nonthes after they happen. I realy hope they act faster than that on legslative issues. We love our NRA.

I get emails from them all the damn time for all sorts of other things. Folks technology is not that complex to provide such simple data. Even the commies at NBC managed to get video up from the Olympic finals in shooting events in short order.
NBC a organization that would just as soon strip you of your guns gets you results and video. The NRA an organization singularly dedicated to shooters and gun ownership with a special historical background in competitive shooting and this is what you get for information on a National Level Competition. Much less all the other PITA hoops they make you jump through. Sometimes I think shooting sports survive in spite of the NRA and not due directly to their existence.

Re: Does the NRA post National Results?
The only way we're ever going to get this changed and brought at least into the 20th century is to let those in charge know how we feel. I've already written an e-mail to Greg Connor and to Dennis Willing who is the new NRA Director of Competitive Shooting Programs. His e-mail is [email protected] We all need to let him know how dissatisfied we are with the status quo and that we're mad as hell and we're not going to take it any more. OK, maybe not to that extreme but we do need to let him know that there are a bunch of competitors out there who aren't happy about having to wait months to find out how we did. I shot the Lever Action Nationals and of the six individual matches and four aggregate matches I know how I stacked up in only 3 of those and that's only because I got some kind of award. That is insane! I saw the results printouts as the awards were being handed out. THEY HAD THE RESULTS AT THE END OF THE TOURNAMENT. When I sent my first e-mail to the NRA I was told that they had to wait till Greg Connor returned with the results on 8/13. They can't e-mail the results to HQ? They have to hand carry it? There's got to be someone at the events that is capable of sending the results to HQ via e-mail.
If not, I'm sure one of the competitors would be glad to show them how.
I went to the NRA National Championship results page and if the championship was run WITH someone else the results are available. If just the NRA ran it there's nothing there as far as I can see. As an example, as Camp Perry tournaments are run, the results information is updated every three to five minutes and that information is immediately available on line (according to their website). Every year I shoot the National Sporting Clays Championship in San Antonio, TX and they draw around 1,400 shooters. The results of the days shoots are available every evening. We know the final results of every event for every shooter before we ever leave the range.
So, send e-mails! Be polite please.
I'm getting off the soap box for now.

I played that tune also, I wrote to Krei and Sigler, I think Connor had pictures of those two because nothing happened and they backed Greg up to the hilt.

Well, it's six weeks ago today that the CLA Nationals were completed and still NOTHING! Not only that but absolutely NO response from the NRA to my e-mails. Not even a KMA which is what I expected. Very Sad.

Reply back from Ann Rezelman, Editorial Asst, SSUSA, today.
"Our Editor was at Camp Perry." "He has a LOT of requests and fills them as quickly as he is able."
I sent another e-mail with more questions. Are there reporters other than the Chief Editor that can cover the national events?
Yesterday, I sent them a picture of our State Championship group picture from this past Saturday with some comments, plus Championship results. I am holding my breath and will see if any interest to be published.

Re: Does the NRA post National Results?
OK, in an effort to be "fair and honest" I did just get a reply from the Director of the Competitive Shooting Division who said that there was some kind of computer problem that was causing the delay in getting the results to the Internet.
My understanding, however, is that the computer problem (caused by an input error of a human) affected only the Smallbore and Rifle Silhouette Championship and not the CLA Championship that took place a full 2 weeks before the "computer problem" occurred.
He said the results should be available in a day or two.
Six weeks + and counting.

Damn, I thought they used a computer at the Nationals. Why would they have an input error after the scores were posted at Raton? I think much of the NRA is still in the stone ager and would chip the scores in a stone if they could find someone to do it.

teetertoter;
Be this as it may the way an article gets into SSUSA is not an easy path. I've submitted and got published many write ups on matches and it usually takes about 3/4 MONTHS before the article appears in print. You also need to follow the guidelines for submissions published on their web site plus a model release is required for most all photos. This is not uncommon for a magazine article lead time. You would think in this age of instance digital gratification it could be shortened but we can only hope.

Re: Does the NRA post National Results?
Chip Lohman, who is the Editor in chief at SSUSA, e-mailed me this morning with one of their standard forms. I will fill it out along with attaching some pictures and Excel results. Ya, sure it will take several months, but better than nothing, for what it is worth. What I sent him this morning, he would not accommodate. I must use their gov't form. You must follow procedures!!ppkny wrote:teetertoter;

Re: Does the NRA post National Results?
someone needs to drag the NRA compitition divison into the 21st century and then quickly yank them to 2012. They should be able to accept e-mails, attachments, and updates should take hours, not months.
