Damn Remington triggers
I successfully bedded my BDL, cleaned up the excess bedding compound and now onto putting everything back together. So far so good. Everything send to fit, insert bolt and try out the safety. Safety arms to work, click to fire and try the trigger. Nothing! It seems that the trigger is not resetting.
Ok, how did I screw up the installing of the trigger?
Any ideas because I have none other than, "replace the trigger with (insert your favorite trigger manufacturer here) and hope I don't screw up that installation.

Re: Damn Remington triggers
Is the bolt cocking and the firing pin not falling or is it not cocking at all?

It feels like the firing pin is cocking bit not falling. There is no movement to the trigger. It seems like the sear is not resetting.

If the bolt is cocking, you should be able to see the back of the firing pin almost flush with the back of the bolt shroud, if it shows about 1/4" below the shroud, it means the bolt is not cocked.
There is a very small spring under the back of the sear, that normally falls out during removal of the trigger, it is tricky to re-install correctly. This spring is the one that pushes the sear back up so it will cock. Chances are that the spring is missing or not installed correctly.

Eveilo,
There is a small spring for the sear but I thought it went under the sear near the pivot point at the front of the sear. The was even a hole for it.
That goes at the rear of the sear?
That explains a great deal.
The rifle is 1989 manufacture if that helps.

The spring goes in the front section of sear right by the front pivot point closest to the front of the action. Install the front pin and the sear in place, and then lift the sear, and install the spring, then hold the sear down while installing the rear pin, if everything is right, you should be able to push the sear down, and see it come back up.

Re: Damn Remington triggers
The spring was the issue, it somehow popped out and was lying there in the trigger housing. Now it cocks the bolt and fires correctly, I checked the safety and it is fine too.
Thank you Evelio and everyone for the advice. After Nationals in July I will be shopping for a new trigger but until then this is great.
