Scope power limit?
I heard two people talking at a rimfire sihloutte match about one course of fire using one size target and had a 6X limit on scopes and another course having smaller targets and a 9X limit. Could anyone educate me on this?
Thanks

Must have been bench rest shooting? No rules in the NRA in regard to scope power.reklaus wrote:I heard two people talking at a rimfire sihloutte match about one course of fire using one size target and had a 6X limit on scopes and another course having smaller targets and a 9X limit. I'm guessing that George is probably right. There used to be a 6X scope limit on sporter class guns in IR50/50 benchrest. There could still be that limit for all I know. I haven't shot benchrest in years. I've never heard of a scope power limit in silhouette matches other than a couple club matches primarily aimed getting new shooters into silhouette shooting. There aren't any scope power limits in NRA silhouette shooting, for sure.
