Dot Size
I recently purchased a Leupold 6.5x20 EFR from Chicken George. During the purchase I asked how the dot he sells would compare with my Bushnell 1/4 moa dot. His answer was one of the best and easiest to understand I have read.
I have reposted it here with his permission.
Hope this is a help to others!

Dot sizes are hard to type about, easier to show on paper....
Please see the attached drawning I made real quick for you...
The grid would represent a 1/4 MOA grid, it's easy to see how a 1/4 moa dot is 1/4 the size of a1/2 moa dot .... Say that again... you would think a 1/4 dot is half the size of a 1/2 dot, but when you are talking about moa (sunstention) it's actually 1/4 the size in AREA, witch is what I think the eye sees and perceives as 'size'
The dot I get installed is 3/8 MOA on 20X (dots change size in a variable scope).. not too big, not too small... just right in most people's opinion.
