Tubb final finish bore polishing.
Well, my CZ 452 is soon to be approaching 25,000 rounds through it. I know this isn't alot as some of you have 3 to 4 times that amount down your barrels, but do you guys see any benefit in using a bore polishing agent like the one tubb sells? Have any of you guys used it? Also, I know I should just shoot, but in my off time my reading has led to finding this. His claims are a little bold and I would be impressed if they did half of what has been said on a 22 rimfire.

I would use Flitz or other super mild abrasive to cleaning up the barrel. I think the Tubb stuff is too abrasive.

From a pure physics standpoint I don't buy the claims made of reviving guns that are well used (like yours). I think where Tubbs is able to make that claim is when the final finish product is used on an old gun that has been sitting around for years and years and may have some corrosion in the barrel. I think the Final Finish bullets would help clean that up nicely. Your barrel on the other hand... is nicely polished and broken in after all the hard work you put in seasoning it (25,000 rounds). Any flaws or rough spots in your barrel have been taken care of by all your shooting. Anything you put down a barrel such as yours is going to do nothing but wear the sharpness of the edges of the lands and possibly degrade your accuracy.
I would reserve the Final Finish stuff for new guns with rough bores, or old guns found in a barn that maybe have a little surface rust that needs to be knocked out of the bore.
Just my thoughts.

Has accuracy diminished? How often is it cleaned with solvent? Mine are cleaned with oil that contains a mild solvent, using a pull through line and large patches every time they're shoot, but they only meet solvent when there's a problem. CZ bores are better than the barrels that reputedly benefit from the Tubb treatment, so it's probably unnecessary for yours.

How long did it take you to go through 5 cases of ammo and what kind of ammo do you use?

Well the guy before me said it had 10,000 to 15,000 through it and I personally have a little under 12,000. And it took me about 7months give or take a month or so. And maybe the accuracy is down a smidge but nothing noticable. And I suppose I just answered my own question lol

Huey, the only thing taller than you are your tales. If you have 12G rounds through that CZ in 6 months, I'll eat your vest. And thanks for blowing off our practice session today, the bratwurst were great...

I guess that in Huey's case, catered practice sessions are SOP?

I'll try another food group next time. Big wieners didn't work.

And a little under 12,000 can be right around 10,000rounds! So just because you dont see me shoot all the rounds doesn't mean they're not going down the barrel!

Baby Huey....concentrait on quality shots, and the food!
Hammy, maybe you should try Surf and Turf as a bait for the boy.
In all yes you can have gone through that much ammo in 6/7 months, do I think it did much to a CZ barrel, not really, unless you ran grit through there as well. As for what wear might be done, probably more to the chamber than the rifling. You still have a long ways to go bud, I don't get to shoot as often but it took over 64000 through my modern Winny 52 before it really started having any problems and that was from wear to the chamber, barrel still shoots good.
Keep shooting and leave the food to us old fat folks.

Baby Huey... your barrel is fine, quit reading articles that are trying to get you to buy something, all your doing is buying them new barrels and rifles. It's just like the fishing shows, hunting shows, etc. they are paid for by the manufactures and are there to get you to BUY from them the newest, latest and greatest. How do I know.. bet I have $3k in fishing lures of every color to 'match the water clarity if you want to catch more and bigger fish you have to follow this'...... blah, blah, blah. Bottom line, same old lures out produce the new fancy ones made to impress us people, the fish don't care and I and many others have 100's of unused luresCZforlife wrote:Well, my CZ 452 is soon to be approaching 25,000 rounds through it.
