VOLUNTEER MATCH REPORT AND ARTICLE WRITERS SUGGESTION

Post by lone ringer »

I would like to suggest that if we can't have our own publication we can at least volunteer to write up match reports for those unfortunate souls that can't make it to the more important matches like the Rifle and Cowboy nationals, Trifecta, State and hopefully some International match results as well.

I know for a fact that there are enough of us in this forum from all over the Nation and abroad that attend those large matches that would not mind doing a little writing for the rest of us to read about them instead of us asking questions and not getting the proper answers (please read some of those past treads about the Nationals and you will know what I am talking about) but on the other hand if some of us would provide a full and detailed report of those matches I am sure that most people here would appreciate it.

If the people in charge of the Web site would take charge of the volunteer writers so that there would be no duplicate reports or maybe even assign matches and articles to those of us that volunteer to write for them.

There are people in this forum like Steve Boelter and Kitty (it was not my intention to put you two guys in the spot) amongst others that have had their writings published and would more than likely not mind contributing here as well. I venture to say that if that happened it would make this forum even more popular than it is now. Tony Tello

Consider it a done deal.

Steelchickens was started on the idea that new guys needed a place to get information and preferably from the seasoned fella's.

Our "front (non-forum) pages" sometimes seem like an awkward place to look, but we've tried to keep them up with submissions from ourselves and other's who have sent us articles, reports or announcements. (If there are suggestions on a better way to integrate submissions with the forums, please give us your ideas - we're always looking for ways to make it better.)

I promise, if you guys give us submissions, we'll make sure they get posted in one way or another.

I've only been shooting for a few years, and for the first few, I thought you had to be nuts to travel so far for some of these matches, but now that I've grown with the sport, I can see some of the events that could be well served with additional coverage.

Here's how I'd like to start it. Give me a list of the matches you know of that you think should get coverage - then we'll get someone who's going to take down scores and write up the event.

Won't mind helping with an article or two plus pictures. Steelchickens is the most relevant venue for silhouette shooters that is currently in existence.
