A Northern's pictoral report on Winnsboro & Louisiana!
First, there are the sights to be seen...

Funniest thing I saw in New Orleans...

In 2008, a few things did happen here....

A very ancient Fayette's Blacksmith bar room...

Nice pics. Glad you got to go to oldest bar in the city it is very cool. That was the late night stop after concerts for me and friends yearssss ago.
Thats the wonderful thing about New Orleans 2am is just another hour. I guess thats why I have seen so many trashed tourists @5am trying to find their hotels
I meant to get a shot of the inmates myself. When I saw them I first though hmmmmm whats wrong with this picture.
Then I thought hmmm thats a long run where there gonna go!

Mordecai,
Great shots! The inmates are actually trustees and have been helping us put on this match for several years. We are not allowed to pay them, but they eat pretty well and we buy them all the cigarettes that they want. They are basically good guys that made stupid mistakes. Now you know why we give the orange inmate shirts only to out-of-state competitors! They seem to have become one of our more coveted awards!
Jerry and I had the best time at this match than any other and we will try to have a better time next year!

The guy with the head band is "Doc", he worked from the moment it got to the club, 8:00 am monday, and did not stop. He is 31 and says he fell in with the wrong crowed, he dose not smoke, so every day we (Jim and I) got him candy and they all liked sticky buns. When they finished one job they just looked for another, very keen to learn and the most hard working bunch i have ever met. Doc is a local, the rest are from New Orleans. I was the first person they had met from another country. some times we just don't appreciate the way others live. I was very impressed with the way a lot of the shooters went out of there way to talk to and say thanks to theses guys. I just hope in a small way we have shown them a better path in life.
Cheers Limey

What are we allowed to do for these guys? Books, magazines, cigarettes, and candy? I want to thank 'em, but don't want to get 'em in any more trouble.
