Remington 581/541 Silo Stocks

Does anyone know of anyone that makes replacement stocks for the 581/541?

I'd like a pharr but way too expensive to put on a 581. I was hoping to find something like a B&C Anschutz Style like the one for 10/22's, except for a 581/541.

I went the custom route, but I'm fortunate to have a good wood guy close. I supplied the wood, he fit the rifle to me and bedded the action. Its either this route, a surplus 541 stock, or contact Richard's or Boyds.

Wood looks nice but....... it seems to crawl all over as the weather changes. Go with plastic. It is also a lot lighter and allows you to balance the rifle better.

do you know of someone who does plastic stocks for these rifles?

I haven't looked. I do know that the Pharr stock is not inletted so it will fit anything. I would guess that with some fibre glass and foam, a person could make any stock work just fine. Don't forget to make it look good with a little paint to cover your mods. With the glass and bondo you can make the stock look and feel just like you want it to.

I guess that answer wasn't what you were looking for but the best I could do. I know a guy in WA that has done that to many stocks and he didn't even bother to paint them.
