Sight Adjustment

I printed out targets from Jerry Webster's site and did a little shooting this afternoon.
Seems to be a fair amount of sight adjustment required between distances.
What do y'all do? Adjust? Hold off? Or what?

Zero on chickens the click up it's about 2.5 min for pigs, then at 5 min (from 0) for Turkeys and around 11Min (from 0) for the rams, YMMV depending on a number of factors, but that will get you close.

I think it is SOP to set your elevation target knob on zero when sighted in on the chickens, then record your elevation increases needed on out to the other animals. For example, my smallbore settings are, in minutes, 0 - 1.5 - 4.5 - 9.5 at my home range. These will vary some with head wind, no wind, tail wind, etc. But they are usually pretty close. I like getting these with no wind, if possible.

0, 2, 4, 8 works for me with 1095 fps ammo.

It doesn't take long to very, very picky about mechanicals. If you have to choose between better glass or getter mechanicals, go for the mechanicals and settle for glass that's "good enough".

Leupold, Weaver (T series) or Sightron...all have good reputation for warranties, glass is good, and mechanics great.
