107 or 123 for CPT in 260 Rem?

More expensive to feed, but worth it.

Riddle me this, Rose Jr shot relay 1 and 3 with two different rifles in the same caliber (6.5x47) using the same load, relay 1 he hit one ram smack dab in the center of the shoulder with a 139 Lapua, it didn't even move. Relay 3 he hit the same ram at the same elevation about 4 inches left and knocked it over. I shot relay 4 and knocked over all 5 with a 123?

Bob, Rose Jr. has a Bat action on both of his guns. He probably paid more for his actions than I did for my whole rifle, so putting it cash wise, I think that he would be the better tipper.

Well the other alternative is the setters felt sorry for you becuase you didn't have any BAT actions.

One thing for sure is, we know that it' wasn't because McAlice sent them money to help you out :D

Answer is simple...123's are magic....everyone knows that....Actually, in my experience, thought it may be limited compared to some regular posters is that the 123 is one of those bullets that seems to perform better in reality than it does on paper. FWIW

I too have tried the 123 at ram distance and although very accurate at 500 meters is not as reliable as the heavier 139 or 144 bullets on rams.
By the way our rams are not easy to knock over with any caliber since they set up the range for BP cartridge where rams are not a problem when hit with a 45-70, so when I shoot HP I make sure the rams are set all the way to the back of the stands, some times I even go to the trouble of soft setting them and even then I get an occasional ringer. I believe the pads on the rams and the stand bases may be a bit on the large side but necessary to keep them standing when the wind blows hard.

I'm specifically only worried about CPT. My ram load is settled. See the other thread for more info on that. :)

What happened JB, did you forget to bring your 123's to the ram line? :D Looks like Mr. Rose had a good day. Was it windy?
