Who's going to Ridgway for the Nationals

I am planning on attending the smallbore event. For Hunter rifle I have decided to use my vintage 39A made in 1948.
It's going to be fuunnn........

Well......not exactly..... The tang sight is still on the tang but mounted on top is a vintage 8X Weaver scope with dual crosshairs 6 MOA apart.
With that set up I won't need to change my sight settings. Of course the Marlin is no Anschutz in the accuracy department and the hammer fall takes several milliseconds longer......but I'm there to have fuunnn..... with a true hunting rifle.

I had so much fun today at Ridgway! Innocent Mary took me under her wing for 7 hours... that woman is awesome! Enjoyed meeting the Hollywood, FL boys, Pat & Kevin and Nashville J.P. and many others. Got to see some terrific shooting and enjoyed a little mentoring from Mary; an awesome day. Shooters are great people and so is this forum!

Innocent, after reading your reply on your preference of painted white animals, I went out to our club this evening and painted all 4 permanent swingers white to give it a try against the high sand berms. During the bright day light hours tomorrow, I am returning to see if I can distinguish the white animals against the sand w/o to much fuss with my total color blindness condition. This evening, I did like my scope dot distinction on the white animals. We have our weekly match tomorrow evening and will get a revised consensus. We had talked about using colors other than black and I know I was for black as I could see much better against a sand back ground. I am one of those that is, "Subject to Change." Fortunately! Perhaps our state championship this Sunday will be WHITE animals. I will get a can of yellow tomorrow and try that too. Maybe end up with different banks with rainbow colors.

I've shot at a few ranges that used florescent orange.

Internatioal orange is still used in several parts of FL...more expensive to paint but easily visisble.
