Excell match spread sheet

Post by boats »

Want to improve my Club match results reporting next season. How about some good ideas for Excel spread sheet format's. Been hacking one out thought I would ask for ideas.

Ideal would be Name SR/HR Classification . Then monthly score by animal and total with averages calculated. Figure I would log all building as the year progresses email out just the monthly cutting and pasting. Make the whole sheet available on Dropbox for any shooter that wanted full detail.

All ideas appreciated

Boats, Harold Frey has a great one he runs for the Ridgway matches. If you contact the Ridgway club they could peobably get you in touch with Harold. His will even give you the score cards for the shooters.

Hey Ducky,

Just out of curiosity, what software do you use for the Southern Nationals? It's got to be pretty good to be able to run a match that size. Especially when your have a competitor who's wife runs off with his score sheets and you have to print a new set, not that that would EVER happen.

an example of what i use, breaks down by shooter classification, by rifle division, by animal, by match, and combined match score. i also have one for a season total score per participant / shooter classification / rifle division

http://fscweb.org/Oct%202011%20SBS%20sc ... ebsite.htm

you can add in a few formulas and the totals populate themselves

TP I wouldn't mind the file myself to check out. We have been thinking about a cash incentive to add to the game based on averages and that spreadsheet would make things simple. I have one that is setup for shot strings over a chronograph that will do all the math and averages with a nice plot line.

What we have in mind is prizes/trophy's based on improvement & personal best in our morning regulation silhouette match. This to build support with the new and mid level shooters. Afternoons we run non sanctioned iron sight match on rams hung from Chains. 12 matches a year we are posting the top 5 matches. 200 targets. Lot of discussion back and forth on were somebody sits in the 200 target annual competition. Regulation we could do the same but percentages each animal benchmarked may be better.

Main thing is I have to automate the calculations and make them easy to send out. Have been using a word doc table that cut's and paste into emails, no need for attachments. Think I can use both Excel to calculate then cut and paste into word table then send. Also experimenting with Drop box which is a cloud file sharing site. Give them the log in any competitor can look at the base data anytime. Drop box is a simple site that does with MS Share point does.

i may have deleted the formulas for self populating while blanking out the form. there's at least a template to use in the meantime and you can use a calculator until i get some free time and redo the formulas and will resend.
