Need help with website content..

Just wanted to make a post asking for anyone that might have some good pictures they took from any matches in the Gulf South States to share them with me for use on a website I am developing dedicated to Silhouette shooting in the Gulf South States.

I need pics of all the ranges where matches are held (hopefully labeled where). Looking for pics of the whole range and some action shots during matches. Also would like the match info for each range and any contact info that you can provide. The plan is to have a page for each state with pics of the ranges along with the match info and contacts for that range. All the extra pics I get will be put into a seperate gallery page.

My goal is to try and get some more web presence for the sport in our area. As of now there is little to nothing out there about the matches. Unless you read fine print and get the NRA mag you would never know where to go. It is my hope that this site will be a resource for those in our southern states to to find and attend matches. I am not going to be a forum but I would like to be able to post the site to forums where local shooters frequent in hopes that they check it out and then come give it a try.

Dee, This is one of the best ideas I have heard of for our area. I have not given up on the matchs at Magnolia Rifle & Pistol Club in Jackson, MS. The rails and berms are still there. People have contacted me wanting a Mississippi State Smallbore Match held in Jackson, MS. in 2013. What States are you planning to include on this website? I think Texas, Louisiana, Alabama, Florida and maybe Chihuaha the most Northeastern state in Mexico. We are having shooters from that area of Mexico attending matchs in the Gulf States many times each year now. We will be checking our files for pictures of the Jackson, MS.range and especially the 2009 Jerry Tureau Classic winners. It would be nice to somehow make this site come up very close to the top of the search engines if the search terms are the name of the state and rifle silhouette?

Ok I am still hoping some people can provide some good content for the website.

The plan is to have a site where each state has its own Main Page and then within that states pages will be a page devoted to each range holding the matches and the match info for that range etc. I would really like to give some sort of visual pop to the site and make it more than just "match at 9am 2nd Sat. of Month, Call Big Jim" I think with range photos to go along with all the info it will make it more appealing to people who may visit.

I am going to take the liberty of lifting some peoples images from the web to try and develop some content. If you see one you took up and do not want me using it just let me know.

This project is one I am taking on but I am very much going to be depending on those shooters in other states to get me the info I need and pictures as best they can for their states pages. Originally I was thinking about just sticking with Gulf South States but I am now thinking there is no reason I can not include the surrounding states as well like Ark., Tenn, Georgia and the Carolinas.

Any links you may have to pictures stored online would be appreciated. Just post the link here. I think I recall some members having Facebook pages with pics on them any links to those would be great as well. Now I am thinking a Facebook page for the website might be a good idea as well.

Prelim site should be in beta development and uploaded to my web host by the end of the weekend if all goes well and I get some time to work on it.

The site is now up and running but as always still far from complete. That is where you all come in and help me out

Ok Folks I am bumping this thread because I have had so little response for information.

So if you would like your match to be listed with all it's details on the website please send me the details. I am currently working to get links with state shooting associations websites but I am not going to bother trying with any state I don't even have match information for to begin with.

Please let me know if you would like to participate and provide me with details and perhaps match pictures for your webpage. Otherwise I will just assume you have no interest in your match being on the website and all states with no content will simply be deleted. I am not expecting a Doctoral Thesis just some general info and contacts etc. The www is the place people go to locate information and I am just trying to offer a better option than the NRA's micro printing in the back of a magazine and for the exact same cost to you, nothing!

Here is the Schedule for Gateway in Jacksonville FL, we shoot the Last Saturday of the month:

Date(s) monthly tournament to be fired: Jan 28, Feb 25, Apr 28, May 26, Jun 23, Jul 28, Aug 25, Sept 22, Oct 27, Nov 24, Dec 22

Sunshine Classic Fl. State Championship: March 24 & 25th (practice Mar. 23rd noon until 5pm).

I'll try to get some pictures of the range is you're interested.
