Marty Washington

Its with a heavy heart that I inform my forum friends that Marty Washington has passed away...Marty was a long time Smallbore competitor, Silhouette shooter, Coach and friend. Marty was my shooting coach and for many years instructed jouniors at our club and at the Trail glades range. He also competed at the Black Hawk match, Camp Perry and other events he will be greatly missed by myself and all the shooters that he trained and mentored.

A great shooter and I too have many fond memories of shooting silhouette with Marty and his father Tom.

Sounds like someone I would have liked to have met. Sorry to hear of this gentleman's passing. Sounds like a life that should be rejoiced. Hopefully he looked back and was proud of all of his accomplishments and contributions to those around him.

We were talking about Marty and Tom at the Tennessee match last year. Two good friends as well as great guys totally dedicated to the shooting sports and the kids.

I know you and Mary and many others were very close to Marty.

I spent almost 20 years traveling to matches with Marty all over the country both he and pop's were like 2nd fathers to me.
