scope power

What power scope are you using? At one match this year I used a 20x Simmons and it worked fairly well. At another I used a Weaver 36 it seemed to magnify my movements but once I became used to it it worked very well and I like the markings on the adjustable objective better on the Simmons and Weaver than the Leupold. A few years back I was using a Sightron 24x on my Anschutz 1808 it worked well but I had to use extended rings to get the scope mounted for correct eye relief as the Sightron straight 24x has a very long eye relief.
What are you guys using and why?

I'm very much a beginner but for anyone who is interested I am using a Leupold VXI 4-12 power.

I am saving my pennies for a new scope but it will be a while.

If I had a say in making a scope for silhouette it would be........ 16 to 36x: 3/8 dot; 1/2 min clicks; 30mm tube; 45mm lens; focus down to 30 feet.

Leupold 6.5-20 EFR on my standard gun and a BR24 on my hunter. I'm comfortable holding both and FOV is large enough to insure picking the right target

Anything from a Weaver T 10 to a Premier 18X40, with many Leupolds in between. Depends on the experience of the shooter, the ability of the eyes of that shooter, and the enviromental conditions I am shooting in at the time.

Good one to meet 90% of the varying conditions/shooters, Leupold 6.5X20 EFR.

The 6x20efr with 1/2dot or the sightron 6x24 with 1/2 dot from Chicken George are really good choices. I also like the 20X power to see where I am at on the string. I was shooting the wrong animal on 30X so I sold my FX3s. I was always checking and rechecking, and that was a chore. So 20X seems more relaxed and the animals are plenty big. It is personal choice.

It took me 2 scopes to determine I really needed a third, 6-24X42SIL Sightron, as the extra 4X would help my Sr. eyes and still not have pronounced wobble at the Rams. I can also see the sight-in paper holes at 100m, too. Chickens are at 10X. AO scope is my requirement. I just sold my previous 6-20X42 to a new member. My 2 cents.
