Silhouette USMC style.
Our silhouette club put on an event today for some local Marines (Marine Corps Air Station Yuma) , a Gunnery Sergeant who shoots with us brought out about 20 of the young guys and girls under his leadership. This was sort of a summer biathlon event. We set up all of our half-scale targets, 20 of each, the Marines were divided up into 4 teams. Each team got to shoot 5 of each. The first member of each team had to run over to the ammo point 1/4 mile away, get an ammo pack of 10 rounds of .22 rimfire, run back and shoot the rounds out of a strange-to-him rifle the club supplied. After the ten rounds were expended, he had to tag the next guy in his team who had to run get another ammo pack, run back, etc, etc, until all the team's targets were down. These folks were not used to shooting with a scope, most of them had never used one and a few of them had never fired a bolt action. Most of them did pretty well, after all they ARE Marines. 
They seemed to all have a good time and so did we, we were proud and happy to be able to do something for these young people. Looking forward to doing it again.

What a great day it sounds like you all had. That had to be fun watching them haul ass to get ammo then trying to shoot. I know I don't even like to go walk down range and paint much less run 1/4 mile before shooting 
After the match was over you should have told them all OK.. is everyone warmed up now? Then broke out the 1/5 scale targets and tell them the ammo is 1/2 mile away. GO!
Just to see the looks on their faces.
Really great that you all put this fun match on for the Marines and I am sure they had a blast.

As a matter of fact the small targets were still posted from our regular Friday morning shoot, they were duly impressed that we shot (at ) those offhand.
Funny thing occured, we are a club of about 45 geezers , AVERAGE age is around 70. Their Gunnery Sergeant asked us if we wished to compete in the event which resulted in gales of laughter, us thinking about running to the ammo point and back, some us can barely make it walking to the chicken line to set targets.
