Any news from the Nationals in NM?

This is what we do.

They should rebuild them with sun/rain covers over the top but I'm not optomistic about that happening since the range is used so seldom, still it needs to be done.
And the angle iron on the bottom "trays" will chew up the back of the comb on your stock if you have a short length of pull because they are too narrow. My new stock has horrible gouges. I tried to put it in at an angle, but that didn't work very well either.

I was disappointed with only two things regarding the facilities: first was the poor shape of the gun racks, second was the rocky area behind the line to include the parking lot.

I didn't expect an asphalt or concrete area but damn, some of those rocks were pretty big. Heck, it would have ripped the wheels off of my cooler if I tried bringing it up to where I was sitting.

As a first time silhouette competitor at Nationals I was impressed with everything else except those two areas, gun racks and rocky firing line/parking.

Maybe I am spoiled.

If I was running the range I would have given the target setters and scorers all 5 gallon buckets and lined them up at one end and marched down the line picking up all the rocks. My dad had my brothers and I do it every spring on our ranch when we were kids, the pastures around our house in S.D. were pretty much rock free!

I read what I wrote and it sounds like I am complaining but it is really just nitpicking.

I feel very fortunate to been able to attend and participate. I am looking forward to the Nationals returning to someplace relativity close so I can attend them again.
