Silhouette....Hawaii Style
I always enjoy seeing photos of the ranges in other places. Here's some photos of our range from last Friday. It is located on the east side of Oahu...very close to Hanauma Bay (if you have ever visited you may have gone snorkeling there).
Here's a link to the Koko Head Shooting Complex. http://www.khsc.info/ The range is run by the City. The downside is that the hours are very limited and we often have to wait a couple of hours for a bench (at the paper target side of the rifle range).
It was a calm day for a change.
Take care,
Dave

Vey nice Super Dave!
I was at the bay this past June snorkeling with the Mrs. I thought I heard gun shots from the parking lot - are you guys that close to the parking lot to the bay? I wished I would have stopped by. Snorkeling, golf and of course the grinds were da kine so maybe I'll leave that for our next trip to Oahu.
Aloha
Kevin

Nice range you have there. I didn't even know there was silhouette shooting in Hawaii. I guess I can cross one more thing off of my already very short list of reasons not to move there.

I lived there from 94 to 97, drove by that range many a time. Wasn't introduced to silhouette at the time, and did most of my shooting at Schofield and Kaneohe. Nice looking set up! If I make it out to Oahu I am going to be hitting someone up for a loaner rifle! ;)

Hmmm, may have to make my next high school reunion (Pearl City High School) and make a field trip to the range. I believe I actually shot there a few times when I lived on Oaho, but only pistols.

I was at that range in 2004. Wife and I were on vacation driving north on that road and I saw the gun club sign so I drove in. It was real busy on a Sunday and a pistol silhouette match was going on. Stayed and watched for awhile.

Hey, glad you guys like it.
It's definitely a busy range since its about the only place to shoot rifles on the island...for civilians.
I'm new to silhouette and really enjoying it.
Take care,
Dave

Aloha Nationals...that would be cool!
Be sure to get some practice with 15 to 20 mph side winds...since that's the norm
Later,
Dave

That would be a sweet place to hold a big match, Mary. I am sure all here would LOVE to see you and the three girls in that Winnsboro picture strike the same pose.......only wearing grass skirts and colorful leis, nothing else. Oh yeah, all holding your 1700 series Anschutz's of course.
Oooo la la.
