Re: Savage Mark II instead of CZ-455???
Tried my short scope rings because my daughter complained about the tall ones. Well, that's not gonna work. Scope is touching the barrel and I am out of elevation adjustment for 100yds. Gonna have to swap out the rings and try again.
Super tight groups at 25 and 50yds. Does well with three different kinds of ammo. Best group was from Wolf match ammo. Bolt is lubed and very slick now. Trigger is so much better than the Marlin, I'm not gonna touch it for now. It breaks so clean.
Very pleased with my purchase!
Will post results from next range session.

Jesterdog,
You are going to have to shim the scope to have enough elevation. Do you know how to do it? PM me if you need some help with that.

Those are cool, Sarge. Maybe in the future. Right now I need some "recession" scope rings, aka $10 Academy specials. lol! I will definately be upgrading to those one day, though!

If you haven't been to the CZ-Brno forum on Rimfire Central yet, it is highly recommended. Very active forum and tremendously helpful and knowledgeable people.

Thanks, I did sign up at Rimfire Central. Got the CZ out with dear daughter. Set elevation knob at middle of travel. Shimmed back ring to zero at 50yds. Adjusted elevation knob for 100 and 25 yards. That rifle shoots really good. Much tighter groups than the Marlin. Daughter is much pleased with the weight and balance of the CZ. Now just waiting for 4-H Sporter rifle and next silhouette match.
thanks for all the tips, guys!

Re: Savage Mark II instead of CZ-455???
The 4-H coach let her try some Lapua Center-X ammo for her Sporter Postal match. Man! The group size difference between Wolf MT and Lapua CenterX is astonishing! I don't have a pic, but 5 shot group at 25 yrds was all holes touching each other. So, she shot a 144 out of possible 200 for Postal. On her last bull she shanked two shots off bull for zero points. I think she was getting fatigued. But, she did good! Shot silhouette the next day and drug her brother out of the house. A nice person at the match let him shoot an Anschutz instead of our Marlin semiauto. They tied. His sister beat him in the shoot off. Long car ride home for him, hahaha! I shot my daughter's CZ in relay 2. What a great little rifle, that CZ. I discovered that I prefer a mil-dot scope (mounted on the Anschutz that brother was shooting). That way I don't have to fool with adjustment knobs and getting confused. I think the simpler we make it in the beginning, the better. Later, we can get fancy. I think that I will try adjusting the trigger. I am sure that before long I will install the Yo dave trigger kit.

Ok, so an update: Yo=dave kit installed and set to 2lbs. Mildot scope mounted. Bought a brick of SK+ ammo from a friend.
She shot 4 postals for 4-H. She shot as high as 172 out of 200 on one of them! She averaged around 155 to 160.
Last month in Brownwood, she placed 9th in light rifle with a score of 152 out of 200. And, she placed 2nd in smallbore silhouette!
We have another shoot coming up in a couple of weeks in Callahan county.
I'll keep you posted!

Callahan County - She took 5th place in light rifle and 4th place in silhouette. She scored her highest yet in silhouette (9). She did good. Once again we were in hurricane force winds. It is an inside joke now that everytime she goes to shoot, the wind whips up! State games are in July. Will keep you posted!
