Great practice session at CRC today.
We had eight guys show up for a practice shoot today. The weather was fantastic, sunny in the low 40's and NO WIND again!
Rather than shoot a 40 shot match type format we set up all the animals and fired one shot each left to right, hit or miss on each animal till they were all down. No entry fee, no prizes. Just fun shooting. It does not take long to mow down the banks with good shooters combined with good conditions. We set the range up three times during the day. Toward the end of the day I collected a buck from each shooter for a total of eight dollars. The shooter who dumped the last ram got the money. This was an even contest, anyone could have won it. Mr. Bonner won it.
Jeff shot some more slo-mo video and I am sure we will see it here soon. He had to prove that Dave's 6.5's will actually knock a pig off the rail.
Dan, study the picture of Jeff's camera set up closely. The high tech adapter is "special" modified Home Depot pvc plumbing parts.

Bob,
Thanks much for the pictures. That's some mighty fine "ethnic engineering" with respect to the digiscoping setup. As dear old dad used to say, "Son, good engineering is the cheapest solution that gets the job done."

It's got plastic plumbing parts, wood, glue, and tie wraps. But it's not a truly "redneck" solution...DanDeMan wrote:Bob,

Yeah, out there again today for a few hours. GREAT conditions yet again. About an inch of new snow and little cool when I got there but warmed right up to about 15 F. No wind at all and the sun was out full. Felt nice shooting from near the truck out in the sun. Even the prairie dogs were out enjoying some sun. Saw two coyotes cruising through the small dog town right in back of the ram berm. Also saw a good size hawk take a shot at one for lunch but he missed.
