Trigger issue

Post by Hawk-1 »

Hi guys, my 1712 just started shooting with a lighter and lighter pull without bring taken out of the stock. I just checked it and it it's going off at 14 oz. instead of it's normal 2 lbs 6 ounces. Is the screw on the bottom I'm front of trigger the one to check and out turn?. Anything else that could be a problem? Thanks in advance.

Clean it thoroughly with lighter fluid to make sure that some lube didn't creep its way into your trigger.

This has happened to me with a few different Anschutz rifles over the years. One time it was an actual screw backing out. The other times, one when the trigger's second stage effectively went away and another last year at the Southern Nationals where the trigger went from 2lb 2oz to 3lb 5oz, were due to some sort of debris getting into the trigger assembly. I would do what Trent suggests first and then check screws.

Thanks I will try the fluid. Unfortunately I already played with the screw. It didn't change anything though. I only see one screw period. Where it's the other one? The one I see is on the bottom in front of the trigger. .

Ok, I cleaned good with lighter fluid by spraying a fourth a bottle from every angle. Reinstalled and no change. It is like a long creep with no second stage. Out just shoots when out is ready jason how did you fix the one you had that the second stage went away?

The link above contains what Evelio McDonald advised me about adjusting mine. Probably good advice. It worked for me.
