I second that. I clean mine with dry patches only about twice a year unless something crazy happens that makes me feel like it needs cleaning more often.

West coast Canada here and I do indeed clean my gun every time I shoot it. Nothing too crazy, just run a cleaning patch through, then a few dry patches followed by an oil patch. Barrel cleaning around 3000 rounds. Bolt cleaning every 1000 rounds.

I clean the bore every 3000 with a boresnake I removed the brush from. Since its a ruger 10-22 I clean the action every 1k or so otherwise it tends to start malfunctioning. Also I recently discovered the magazines were causing some of my malfunctions so I clean them every 2k or so.
I buy all my guns from t-rex. He's a small arms dealer.
