starting point for sight settings

looking to get some kind of starting point for sight settings.i am zeroed at 25 yds,shooting cci sv 1030fps avg out of my rifle using weaver kt15 1/4 moa adj. these are what i have come up with 40 +8 60 +14 more 78 +13 more 100 +20 more what are the standard distance for sb matches and what would be you suggested settings for those distances to use as a starting point

The distance for SB Silhouette are:
Chickens 40 meters (43 yd) 0 setting
Pigs 60 meters (65 yd) + 2.5/3
Turkeys 77 meters (84 yd) +4.5/5
Rams 100 meters (109) yd +8.5/9
Generally all ranges are set up in Meters. Most shooters will set there zero on the chickens and on a 1/4moa scope use the settings listed above. The settings are just estimates becuase they will vary with the gun and ammo used but they will get you close.
If you don't have a scope with target turrets it's best to sight in with the pigs being your zero and without adjusting anything shoot at the foot of the chicken, over the back of the turkey and about 4 inches high on the ram.
The game is best shot with a scope that has adjustable target turrets. Hope this helps

rr1220, if you are counting clicks, your "come ups" sound correct. Most Silhouette competitors reset the elevation turret to zero for chicken distance as PPKNY posted. Then we just read the numbers on the elevation dial to keep up with our elevation setting. Example if my pig setting is 2.3 then I am 11 clicks up from the chicken setting "0" on a 1/4 MOA click scope. PPKNY gave some great advice in that post.

Sorry, did not see the KT15 mentioned at first. You should have resettable target turrets on that scope.

Also another trick I use to keep me on the right settings for the animal I am on is to never adjust the objective focus without also making a elevation adjustment. This way you always know where you are at on the turret provided you have a marking on the objective for each animals focus at that distance. Also always make the adjustments for the next animal before you leave the line from the one you just shot. Works for me.

Those were being made and sold by a guy in Texas. I think when this thread was more current (like in March), I e-mailed and asked if he was still making them. He replied that his wife actually had the machine for cutting the stickers out and that she wasn't making silhouette animals any longer. I bet if you went to a shop that makes signs using vinyl letters, they could make some for you, though.

The markings on my Sightron are so close that the animals take up to much room. I have my settings taped on top of the scope.

Jessica's email address is [email protected] for decals. The "o" is the letter, not the #. I needed some pricing from her and she replied last week. I wanted to get some decals from her for our State Championship as hand outs, whether animals or State decal. I emailed again, 3 days ago, and nothing. She said she would have pricing for me last Wednesday. O well. I will look for someone local, if there is anyone.

This is why I told Jessica to stop making the silhouette items. She made these more as a favor to me than as a business. Good luck finding a local vendor that won't charge graphics design time at $50-75 an hour for custom work. Jessica has never charge a set up and has done orders for people that were only a couple of dollars and still did not complain. As of today you can bet that I will never let her take another order. I would rather give her a few dollars out of my pocket than have anyone talk bad about her. I will call her in a few minute and let her know not to bother with your request since you have made other arrangement.

Paul, I didn't mean to get you all upset over my comment. I meant only that last Tuesday she said she would have pricing and have not heard a word since. Yes, she did some custom for me a year ago Feb 2012. I thought I would have had some kind of reply, like, I'm working on it or sorry I have been busy and get back. Again Paul, so sorry I offended you. I don't know if there is anyone local to make these decals.......just say'n. I get your message and will forget about ever e-mailing for some pricing on the different decals. Have a very nice rest of the day. Sorry for communicating in the wrong manner.
